I am now in week 9 of TRT. My doctor prescribed me a vial of 200mg Testosterone C. I am taking .3ml and injecting twice a week (6ml per week total). Prescription is 200mg. How many mg of T am I actually injecting per week? (Sorry - I can’t do the math). My doctor will be having me do my blood work again in about 6 weeks. I am working out hard (5-6 days a week- lifting heavy) and eating more than I’ve ever in my life (and no cardio). I think my body is somewhat harder than before, but I am still not gaining any weight. People say I look think which is exactly the opposite of what I want. (One of the reasons that I went on aside from my T score was that I lost a significant amount of weight in 6 months, but all other tests are normal). My second question is that I am curious whether I am taking enough T to gain weight and begin to build muscle given what I am doing?
You are taking 120mg wk dosing .6ml of 200mg… TRT is not a magic bullet. It will take some time for body changes to take affect. It is not a cycle, its just getting you back to normal healthy man status, and genetics still has a large roll in body composition. Just stay with it, and you’ll see gradual progress
I’m assuming you meant people are telling you look thick, testosterone builds muscle. If you’re muscles are filling out you will look thicker even if your weight remains the same.
Thank you. Do you mind me asking how you did the math?
you are taking 0.6ml of 200mg per ml test.
So 0.6 x 200mg = 120mg
There is a lot more to TRT than injecting T. You need to monitor and manage E2 levels and most need an AI, aromatase inhibitor, to reduce T–>E2.
Increasing T levels shut off your LH/FSH and testes shrink and fertility is at risk. 250iu hCG subq EOD is adequate.
Most doctors a clueless, get educated to protect yourself.

Evaluate your overall thyroid function by checking oral body temperatures as per the thyroid basics sticky. Thyroid hormone fT3 is what gets the job done and it regulates mitochondrial activity, the source of ATP which is the universal currency of cellular energy. This is part of the body’s temperature control loop. This can get messed up if you are iodine deficient. In many countries, you need to be using iodized salt. Other countries add iodine to dairy or bread.

I can be a bit abrupt in my replies and recommendations. I have a lot of ground to cover as this forum has become much more active in the last two years. I can’t follow threads that go deep over time. You need to respond to all of my points and requests as soon as possible before you fall off of my radar. The worse problems are guys who ignore issues re thyroid, body temperatures, history of iodized salt. Please do not piss people off saying that lab results are normal, we need lab number and ranges.
