i use the ‘thumb thing’ for wide grip work with the pronated hand position. i have never really thought of doing wide grip supinated, but i’m sure i get some looks from the PTs…hahah. I did look into the thumb thing a bit more an saw that the forearm flexors are eliminated from assisting the movement if they are on same side of bar as fingers. How this affects shoulder issues on widegrip pullups? i dont know.
