During the summer, I was making $600+ every two weeks, and so my diet wasn’t too hard to manage. Eating clean was pretty easy as I live at home, and didn’t have many other expenses.
Now, I make $160-$200 ever two weeks (back in school and working part-time), and budget is tight. $50.00 goes to Car Insurance, $20.00 goes to Credit Card, and $40.00 goes to gas. I tend to have between $50 and $60 for free spending. That makes things tight when it comes to stocking up my mini fridge.
Here’s what I am for as far as my diet is concerned:
180-200 Grams of Protein
50-70 Grams of Carbs
2,000 Calories
Like most people, I aim for around 6 smallish meals a day… So here’s where I find myself:
- 3 Eggs + 2 Servings of Black Coffee.
- 1 Serving of Whey Protein
WORKOUT - 1 Serving of Whey Protein and maybe a can of Tuna.
- Empty
- Empty
- 1 Serving of Whey Protein about an hour before sleepy time.
That gives me something like this:
- 900 Calories
- 30 Grams of Fat
- 16 Grams of Carbs
- 135 Grams of Protein
Lets not forget that this is pretty boring and wouldn’t be very fun to maintain every single day. I do eat a banana every once in a while, haha. I find they help my muscles from cramping and they perk me up. ![]()
I’ll get to the point:
What’s a good way to fill out the rest of my diet, and what are some alternatives for some of the stuff I’m already doing (so I can spice things up from time to time)? Bare in mind that I don’t have the time like I did during the summer (why can’t an hour of sleep be all I need?)
When I get back from a staff party tonight, I’ll be checking around the boards a little more. I’ve read a lot of articles, but I’ll probably do a thorough search of the entire board for help, but I thought asking here would be a fine place to start.
Thanks in advance.
