Hey guys, I am a “Novice” lifter and I was looking for some advice on some supplements to take. A little info: I am 19, a sophomore in college, and part of the powerlifting team (not the strongest guy, on the team but I am getting there). I have been lifting consistently for about 2 - 3 years. I am 5’11 or so and about 170lbs
In the past I have taken creatine and muscle milk but I am not really a big fan of MM anymore for a variety of reasons. I am looking for something to take for then next 3 months or so and as long as the price isnt through the roof I am open to suggestions.
My goals are strength gains but I would also like to gain a bit of mass. ( and if you know of some miracle supplement that shaves off body fat too I am all ears). I am willing to give anything (legal) a shot.
Thanks in advance.
Jeez, where to start?.. This site is sponsored by Biotest who make some of the best supps on the market. Click on the store link and check out the profiles on the products here.
To get started:
Grow! whey (cheap) or Metabolic Drive (tasty)
Creatine (good german creapure stuff)
Flameout Fish Oil
About the only thing you can’t get here that would be a good idea would be a multi vitamin/mineral. You can always pick that up at your pharmacy or GNC.
Let us know if you have any specific questions after you check out the data on the products.
The supplements are not going to make you bigger or stronger. Your diet and your training (along with hard work) will make you bigger and stronger.
The supplments can be used to help you reach your goals by adding necessary protein (Metabolic Drive) or providing post-workout nutrition (Surge) or even helping you stay healthy (Flame0ut). Some have specific purposes (HOT-ROX - lose fat) and some help give you a kick in the pants to attack your training (Power Drive, Spike). But supplements don’t give you strength and size without all the other necessary ingredients for success (food, training, rest).
I will have to check out the store, I didnt know they had bios on things.
Nate, I realized that supplementation alone will not do it for me. I should have been more specific. Seeing as how I am in college I find it very hard to get my daily calorie intake to where I would like it. I was hoping to find a supplement that would help me get those last few hundred calories in that I usually miss.
Lowering Bodyfat isnt my primary goal although it is not something I would complain about. Thanks for the advice guys.
