44 lb weight- 29’6" (PR)

opened 29’3" pr, blasted one to 31’4" but just leaked out the front of the ring after release, hit that second pr, then the last throw i didnt have enough left to turn sharply into 1 so i just stopped and walked out.

How many attempts do you get? I thought it was 3 like powerlifting

in the olympics and pro shit its 3 in preliminaries and 3 more if you make finals, in most amateur competitions its a straight 4 and occasionally a straight 6, usually seen at small meets where time isn’t a big factor.

bench- 195x11
2" closer, feet up: 185x 5,4,4,3

pendlay- 83x8, 103x8, 109- 3 sets of 8

10am: sohp- 83x10, 119x 10,10,8

2pm: Skullcrushers- 83- 2 of 10
4pm: Skullcrushers- 83- 2 of 10
Not the strictest form on these, didnt wanna mess with changing the bolt-collared weight, i worked hard though, after i finished the sets at 4 it felt like my tris got smashed on with a rock or something

one arm db curls- 45’s- a set of 9 each arm at: 10a, 10:20a, 12:30p, 2:05p, & 4p

Bench- 200x 8,7,5. kill me now

that can be arranged … for a price

just realized my bench is prolly in puss-mode because i havent been training my legs since the 2 consecutive weeks my box squat just fell off a cliff. that’ll drop t-levels.

Accordingly: 76 and 35 lb weight throw practice
Deadlifts- 225x3, 295x3, 345x2, 365x1

s.o.h.p- 123x10, 15 mins rest, 123x9
later
seated, neutral db military to failure- 55s-12 right, 10 left

pendlay- 123x 3of8

I called this log throws training. ive done a piss poor job of showcasing that. here’s me throwing the 81 with my coach:

s.o.h.p- 129- 9 reps, fifteen minutes,9 reps

That’s not an actual competition event right? What’s the purpose of training it?

If you don’t like bro science you’re going to hate this answer.

  1. successful superweight (56 lbs) is about balance, and if you’re not balanced with an 81 you’re getting put on your ass.
    2)core strength
3)i want the 56, 44, and 35 to “feel lighter”. a more logical way to think of this is as CNS conditioning, though that might still be a bunch of crap. The main idea is in weight throw you have to hit certain positions to reach your potential distance. When the weight seems heavy you end up with some undesirable reflexive actions that keep you from getting into these positions.
  2. there are in fact competitions, i think they are called ultraweight pentathalons (dont hold me to that title) where you throw 35, 56, 98, 200, and 300. I’d like to not be intimidated by 98 should I cross it, and someday compete in one of these meets.
  3. because its fun
  4. because i can
