HEY gang!!
I’d just thought I’d put these in here, if not for any other reason than for my own records. I’m always amazed at other members progress that I see…there is ALOT of great ones in here!! To me, any progress whether its in inches or pounds off, (even ONE), is a great step to start with.
I was in bodybuilding quite a few years back. I was really into it from 1989-1995, then stopped because of going to pursue my career,… working two full-time jobs to put myself through college in Maryland for Culinary Arts.
This past Febuary of '07 was my first back-at-it in years as you can see. I pretty much picked up where I left off in terms of ways of training. My first task was to shed off some pounds I’ve gained through the years.
The first picture is before/after ones (split screen), of the left one from my very beginnings back in 2/2007, and the one on the right after loosing 20 pounds taken in June of 2007. The single pic of me is from July 2007 after loosing another 10 pounds to get to my first weight goal… a total of 30-35 pounds dropped within 6 months.
Now I’m concentrating on gaining some lean mass for the winter months, and then this March, dropping my BF%. I’m about 18% right now, but would love to be between 6%-8% by this summer, 2008. I’ve got a ways to go, but with all the help I get from this site, and you members giving all this advise to others…It makes it easier!! Thanks T-Nation and all.
Opps…
Here is the other pic, the one from this past July,… at my first goal of dropping the extra pounds. Ill have to post another split in a few months, showing the change from a whole year (Feb 2007- Feb 2008)!!
LOL…i was thinkin the exact same thing. Heads up for ya OP, ur gonna wanna start on ur cut sooner than march if u wanna hit that bf%. 3 months can give u 6-12% loss, but you have to be pretty darn adherent and consistent for the higher end of spectrum. By the way…good to see you gettin back in action.

LOL…yeah, about those shorts… the black ones I made, most of mine are just shredded… product of being an “Island boy” sunlover I guess anyways, thanks guys, I will deffo think about getting into shredding sooner. I was throwing the idea around that maybe I should just take this next year all together and just stay going in the direction I’m in now.
Ive made some good gains in the last 3 months alone with just eating clean like hell… I might just suck it up and stay that way for the sake of putting on some more lean mass. I just have to stay focused on my diet like it is and work hard to stay at it… maybe even giving up my “cheat” day meal on Saturdays

Hah that was the first thing I thought when looking at the pictures. Basically just sitting there thinking where the hell do people buy shorts like that.

They are burning as we speak… now I’m just nakkie!!
I’m now looking into some HIIT training techniques to add to my workouts real soon, to start dropping BF%… so if anyone has any ideas or articles to look at, I would LOVE them!! Thanks again
Congrats on the 35lb weight loss, good job. Can’t wait to see you reach your goal.

LOL!! None of those pics…yet … one sure fire way to get banned from here for sure!!
Thanks for the congrats, I know I have a WAYS to go before I can get to where I wanna be, especially at an “older” age these days, and doing it naturally, … but I’m in better shape than I was in my 20’s now, when I was really into training then.

Lobo, keep lifting hard and adhering to a clean diet, lean protein, healthy fats and carbs at about maintenance levels and the fat will continue to drop and the muscle appear. You can see the fat loss from the pic comparison and it looks like you have decent muscle and the ability to add more.

Good luck,

… Thanks Decicated, I plan on doing just that, although I’m VERY sesitive to Carbs. I’m sure its my age and my body type, I’ve limited my “main carbs” to morning and post workout, and keep my protein high, (2 grams per lb body weight)>
I wanted to start in March with cutting down to a “push/pull/leg” program every 3 days ( 6 days a week with sunday off), and work in some HIIT between sets, but I’m not sure if I should go-to-get-lean yet, with all I’ve read in the forums…
