So the fact you can’t interpret an overall meaning obviously negates any argument she made, is that correct? Blatant to you b/c you disagree. I don’t get wtf you’re arguing here. She’s not as smart as you? I assure you that is not the case. There’s a reason she can be a bitch - it’s b/c she’s 5’10’, hot as hell, and is a Dr. She made an argument that her PERSONAL experiences were that both the north and the south had pluses and minuses. That stereotypes DO exist. That people should be proud of where they are from - flaws and all. You seem to be the only one arguing her OPINION b/c you were unable to discern the overall context of what she wrote. You’d get a lot farther by simply saying (as one poster did), “What can I say - I love the south. Take it or leave it.” Picking apart someone’s opinion, and not even in a adult, coherent way, just leaves me to believe you rode the short bus to work today. Recess is now over - pick your crayons up and make sure you have your name tag on.
So she is saying be proud of flaws, but negative stereotypes about the north are wrong?

You just sound like you have the hots for her. And You’re right, if she’s a tall hot doctor, it’s got to be my problem.
You know what- think whatever you want. I’ve wasted more of my life today than I care to think about. She didn’t pick a fight - she offered a dissenting opinion. And you jumped on her. You got defensive and took a swing at her by splicing together a few comments that appear to contradict themselves. Pure and simple. Now you’re back pedaling, and trying to justify it to yourself that you have some legitimate argument for doing that. If picking apart comments from a page long post is what you feel you need to do to feel like tough guy, please carry on posting your mindlessness. My comments about her appearance were made simply to broaden the (ok get ready now - SAT word coming) “context” of her admitted whackiness.

I’m sure I’ve somewhere, someplace used a comma incorrectly, so please disregard any and all logic or rational thoughts above. I will duly flog myself later.

lol. Can’t answer a simple question huh?

The problem is that there is no logic or rationality in your posts. I brought up direct contradictions in her post and neither you nor her have yet to address them in any way. You keep touting logic and rationality in an argument you haven’t yet directly addressed the subject in. No need to try to tear me down with simple logic on your side. It should be easier to rebut the substance of my posts.

I brought up problems with what she said and you and her have both simply maintained that I’m wrong with no explanation given. And I just don’t get your awesome logic. You have to have substance to make a rational argument and you have to address the subject to have substance.

It’s like you are attempting to argue from authority but without the authority. Unless, your authority is your just shear awesome-ness. In which case, I submit to your awesome smartness, rationality, and poignant-ness.

When I see someone attempt to maintain opposite positions on an issue in one post, I can’t help but point it out. Guess I’m just a big meany head picking fights with purdy girls.

Missouri was plenty split. Remember the Missouri Compromise of 1850?

Does them joining the SEC count? Add Virgina Tech and ECU (no way UNC and NC State get split up)…

Elvis Presley and the birth of rock and roll.

Jazz. Real, New Orleans jazz.

The blues.

oh God no. lol.

I have been in our South Group at work for the last several years, in a job that has had up to 75% travel. I have been all over the south and generally found both the people I have worked with there and the people I intereacted with in the community to be very friendly. The only time I have noticed racism has been in more rural areas, and to tell you the truth that was more infered by me than overt.

I really don’t find people in the west, midwest, or north east to be unfriendly. I always say please and thank you and no one looks at me like I have two heads. I do notice Florida tends not to be as friendly as everywhere else. The cities in the South tend to be a little more fast paced and unfriendly, but there tend to be more transplants in major cities than in smaller communities.

Some odd comments here. Truthfully,

 1. Southerners can be quite assholes. Just today, I had a guy give me the finger when I gave a quick honk for him to go a green light because he wasnt paying attention. He kept his finger up for about 100 yards. Just one example.

 2. Those who live in the metropolitan areas like Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, etc are just about the same as those who live in major cities in the North. By that I mean dont expect the majority them to having that stereotypical personality or knowledge like those who live in rural areas. Before the 80’s, I may say otherwise.

 3. Im not sure who stated it but diesel trucks are generally the best vehicle for a work truck. They give you better gas mileage, horse power, and are more dependable.

You might want to let them know that, since ppl there both refer to themselves as Southerners.

EDIT: You might want to inform West Virginians too. Since the Civil War is the reason we HAVE a West Virginia in the first place.
