Little Ass-Hats at The Gym

lol there’s a tiny little fella at my gym who thinks he’s huge. and he’s always asking me what i’m “studying” today… then he walks around doing push ups off everything. he probably weighs as much as one of my legs.

As stated before, not everyone wants to get huge and those people have the right to work just the same. And as for those who are not huge yet but want to; they are not gonna make it if they are intimidated and bullied by their ‘superiors’.

Being huge is seemingly suboptiml for most sports as well as health, even if it does not make the biggest difference like compared to a disease or syndrome and even if the gains in self-esteem and self-image help to make up. In other words, just because someone is not hyoge does not mean they are lazy or stupid about training.

Fuck, the OP and many other people themselves recognize that hardcore bodybuilding is alien to general population so perhaps it’s the bodybuilders that should accommodate the average people and not the other way around. Just something to think about.

But this isn’t about criticising people who are not bodybuilders. It’s about people with bad manners, using equipment selfishly.

I think the reason so many of us come here and complain about people like that is we hate the idea of people deluding themselves.

If some guy goes into the gym and only does 20lb barbell curls and Smith machine bench with 135…he most likely thinks he’s working hard and getting himself huge.

I don’t like that!

People walking on the treadmill at 2.0 kph, which is like a funeral march thinking they’re getting in shape.

I don’t like that!

Yeah!

Nobody is complaining about anybody who is making any bit of effort and has some manners.

if you lived in ireland you would think its hilarious.

I think both of you are arseholes but for different reasons. He was clearly incompetent and needed to be firmly (but respectfully) told not to do what he did. If there’s one thing you do not do, it’s use foul language at other people when clearly they do not know they are doing wrong - it’s treating someone as a lesser being, a child if you like. He is a man, talk to him, don’t berate him.

There was one occasion when someone told me he had 30 sets left (not reps, sets). I spoke to him, respectfully but firmly explaining why that’s stupid as hell and he promptly left the machine.

Professor X, don’t complain if people say you’re undergoing roid rage.

Honestly, I think only the Irish and those who have lived here for a very long time can appreciate just how funny it really is.

If people across the world could appreciate it the way we do, it would certainly be up there with the funniest tv shows of all time
