Why didn’t you ask your doctor these questions? Seeking training advice on an online message board is one thing… But seeking medical diagnostics on an anonymous message board…
You should get a CAT scan.

Overall, do the numbers look good or bad? What can I do to improve over the next 4-6 months?
I just got the results of my lipid profile back from the doctor. About me:
25 yrs old
caucasian male
165lbs, 5’7" tall
lifting for 3 yrs
Here are the results:
Cholesterol: 207
LDL: 150
HDL: 47
Triglycerides: 50
Overall, do the numbers look good or bad? What can I do to improve over the next 4-6 months?
I can tell a couple of things by those numbers:
You don’t eat a lot of sweets as your Triglycerides are low.
You don’t do a lot of cardio as your LDL is a bit high and your HDL is somewhat low.
Am I right…(I hope so…come on tell the truth
But you can bring your HDL up and your LDL down with some regular cardio performed three times per week. You might try using Flameout as well. Fish oil has been known to help bring up the HDL number. And…throw in some Oatmeal every day, a big bowl in the morning should do the trick. If not you can also try chowing down on some Almonds every day.
I don’t think the 207 total Cholesterol is bad at all. Although some pill happy doctors would actually prescribe meds for that number. SICK.
There are far more important indicators than cholesterol for heart health. But it is ONE factor that should be monitored.
LOL great post by Zeb and I will just further point you to an article by Cy Willson that will help on any blood test results. “Level With Me Doc How Long Do I Got” do an author search or searh in general.

Thanks for the advice, Zeb. BTW - are you doctor? I don’t eat a lot of sweets, and I don’t really do cardio.
You mean I was right? …Err…I mean…yea…of course I knew I was right.
lol
No, I’m not a doctor, I don’t even play one on TV. I’ve just been around this stuff a really long time.
It’s not really that difficult to improve your cholesterol numbers. But most doctors won’t recommend any sort of food or exercise they prefer medication, usually a “statin” drug. Honestly, at your age and with those numbers you really have it made with only a bit of effort.
Thanks again, Zeb. This is site (and people like you) are the reason I posted this. To answer the previous poster, my doctor told me to “work on it, and come back in four months.” I was told if things got worse, they would give me some pills. Zeb’s answer was what I was looking for.
