This is a pretty shitty thing to say to female athletes wanting to discuss an issue that affects them directly.

I’m not an athlete and I only do this training thing for health, recreation and vanity but here are women here on the other hand who are athletes and have every right to have a discussion without being belittled for it by someone who is not.

Edit: My comment isn’t about your position by the way but your tone.

and my comment directly addresses how some of the sisterhood get themselves all caught up in other’s choices. Upon reflection my comment was insulting which is never good in a discussion.
In case you are wondering, I do play sports, coed, not professional so in that regard, you are right, I am not pursuing a professional career and so am not of the mindset to want to be taken as such

I played women’s rugby. I can’t scrum effectively in just my underwear. Plus, I’m a jumper, so during a lineout, my bare ass would be in the lifters’ face. I could break a hip when she drops me.

I am jumping in on this thread late, although I commented earlier. For those flaming the OP, I want to know how many Vixens have ever asked for athletic advice regarding football or something similar? We have the Powerful Women Thread, which mainly revolves around strength training overall. But could it be possible, that the OP is asking what could be a genuine question, even if it seems silly or not so serious?

Yes, the Lingerie Bowl is more about entertainment than it is it being a sport, but some people seem to take it that way. I have watched some of it, and those women are hitting, tackling, catching, running, etc. This is no powder puff shit, they are banging away at each other (no pun intended, but I wish it was.)

Some of you might find that football drills and workouts are a lot more challenging than weight workouts (trust me, do sets of gassers, bear crawl the length of the field with your gear on, monkey rolls, or push that fucking sled around all damn day) and the last thing you will be thinking about is being sexy. It was considered very wise advice to show up to hell week or training camp 10-15 lbs overweight, as you would lose it by the end of the week.

OP, if you want more advice without further flamage, PM me.

Everyone else, flame on.

I’m game.

I too, would pay to see good-looking men play football in their undies.

I say, get a few teams together and we’ll have a meet up.

Hello, I have been gone for awhile and have not been able to return to this forum. I would like to officially apologize for my last, completely inappropriate, post. That was a particularly horrible day. Usually I am very calm and collected, but after a few straight hours of dealing with the most ignorant and intolerant of Texans, I was pushed over the edge. I was enormously stressed from my intensely heavy school schedule. In such a mood assholes beget assholes, and I turned into an asshole. I didn’t want to hurt anyone I knew by accidentally channeling my anger on them in person, I am recovering from surgery on my shoulder so I could not go to the gym, and an anonymous internet forum where I can’t hurt anyone was my only “venting” option. It was uncalled for, and I should have counted to 10, mediated, listened to calming music etc., but in my anger I did not think. The people of T-Nation were in no way deserving of my anger, and I respect all of your opinions and your advice has helped me greatly many times. I am deeply sorry. I do not regret my previous post, because it is a good lesson, it is a monument that has taught me to be more patient and helped me to not let emotion control my actions. In the future I will try, even harder than usual, to not let useless emotions, such as anger, win.

On topic, my good friend, who used to play football for SMU, due to unforseen circumstantial changes, now has time in his schedule to help this girl with her training. We have created a work out regimen and she is making progress. Due to time constraints I cannot type it out right now, but if you accept my apology and understand that sometimes life sends shit your way, and want to help, I will post it.

Thank you, and I sincerely apologize.

Even though better judgement tells me not to involve myself with this thread any more this is what i have to say:

Mascherano: thank you for stating what had previously been absent or omitted from this thread.

The lack of equality regarding the funding, and most otther aspects of women’s sports programs/athletics in comparison to men’s is a very pertinent and factual problem.

I stick by my earlier statements. Even so, I completely understand the issues some people take up concerning this event… whether it be called the LFL, sports entertainment, the degredation of women, perversion of etc. Etc… cheers
