Also, threw in Goblet? squats. I put in the question mark because I don’t have any DBs over 65#. So, I hugged 2 45# plates. These still count as Goblet?
It was too light, though. I think I will TRY to hug 3 45# plates next time. Hopefully I don’t drop one…or all of them. I do like the movement, though.

I assume you have a barbell and a corner? You could always load it up T-bar row style, face the end of the barbell and grasp that like a ‘goblet’ and do your squats. I believe they’re called Lumberjack squats.

People may think you’re crazy but once they notice how much better you look, it won’t seem so crazy. I don’t mean just looking better by being leaner etc. I started looking better when I found something that really lit me up. Plus it seems to give me nicer skin.
Skip keeps telling me that my skin looks better. He spends more time looking at me than I do, so I take his word for it. And I do enjoy feeling stronger, and even I can see the difference in my shoulders. Now, if I could just get that butt…

Woah! Hold on there. That is pure awesome! This was probably mentioned before but I obviously missed it.
Your training and enthusiasm are fun to watch.

Yeah, I had gastric bypass in Jan '08. Excuse my pic whoring, but this is where I started. It’s nice to be able to move and run and lift things other than my own weight. I never could have gotten into lifting like this before.

ddot, that is an interesting setup. I will give that a try. It has got to be better than trying to hold onto three 45# plates.
Thanks!
Also, if you unscrew the end off an olympic bar you can put the plates on that with a a collar to keep them from falling off. Thats how I make my homemade rocks in the winter.

Unbelievable progress MrsS. And some lovely family pics. (Where are the cats though?)
Since Ms. Snap mentioned the paused DB shrugs, I’m linking the article, which has vids, so that if you guys are interested, you can check it out because it’s done in a specific manner which I have not seen elsewhere.

Hmmmm… almost enough motivation to get me to compete
Nah. I refuse to be seen in public in one of those leotard things.
Thanks everyone!
Uh…it’s a “singlet”. So labelled because, if you are not married prior to being seen in one, you will remain single. Hell, even if you are married, you might end up single.

There’s plenty of much worse looking people out there in singlets. If you ever get the urge to compete, I highly recommend it. My guy and I both compete and coach each other. You have to know that’s the next step right???
Awesome transformation. I can only imagine the work that must have been involved.
