And for your final question, yes, they’re just like rack pulls except instead of the weight resting on the barbell and the pins, it’s on the plates and whatever “blocks” you’ve got. It makes the bar “feel” more natural when you start to pull. I’m sure there’s a science to it, that someone has explained why (if) they’re better than rack pulls.

Sorry, I’ll keep cute pics out of here, and replace them with more dead animals I guess. That make you happy?

I drop it like it’s hot, to get the rebound out of the bottom. I just feel stronger that way. Some people squat really slow, others fast. There isn’t a wrong/right speed (that I know of) so whatever works. And I know what you mean about bottoming out, but don’t you fancy the oly lifts? So wouldn’t a quick drop be “required”?

I recently watched a 9 part interview with Donnie Thompson where he states that he trains alot with his young daughter in her little play area in the gym.
