Punk ass
How much you weighing now? Looking pretty big.
Masch, thanks and thanks. I’m loving the training lately. I always feel like I should add a day in, but I really enjoy a full days rest between every session. Maybe I’m lazy?
Ct, dealwithit
Elmore, been eating “big” lately, up to around 216 in the mornings. Some if it’s around the “middle” but I’m making gains everywhere so there has to be some muscle growing too, haha.
PR platform? amazin.
also, 216 in the morning? Getting to be a big man, hoss.
220 class from now on?

Hoping to finish painting, tiling, constructing said platform of PR’s by the last weekend of the month, so I can do my mock meet in there, and total over 9000.
And yeah dude, eff that 198 garbage, LOL
love the guns ![]()
can’t wait for my meet to be over to get silly drunk on 3 bottles of wine and scarf down some good food.
Mainy, dieting blows, but good luck with it and LWI at your meet!
Last night’s session, brought to you by “Ass Kicking Enterprises”
11 days out from my “meet”, I was scheduled to go for benching up to 205 and DL’s for a couple doubles at 350. Well, with the “Race to 500 DL” underway, I felt like I need to see if I’m increased my 1RM from my last meet @435.
Bench
155x3x2 No rack between sets
180x2
195x2
205x2x2 No rack between sets
Deadlift
225x2x2
285x1
315x1
350x2
Let’s go
395x1
425x1
450x0 Fuck. Reset.
450x1 Got you, bitch. +15#PR
Skipped flyes and lunges, to attempt the BW Squat widowmaker challenge…
135x5x2
185x5
215x21 Hard to count to twenty when you’re about to die from lifting a weight that is hard a hell to reach 10 reps…and double it. Last time I did 20 rep squats it was with 155 and abould killed me. +60# PR LOL
Deadlift. First attempt @1:00, second around 2:20
Widowmaker
If the video comes up as 3:40ish long, lifting is @ 1:00. If it’s the shorter 2:40 vid, it start soon. Youtube’s being retarded. Dealwithit.
Also primed the wall in my gym, ready for painting!
GAHD DEMMIT INK!!! Y DO U HAV 2 PULL 450???
Way to come back and get the 450 pull.
It looks like you lost your air at about knee level on both attempts, but on the second one your start position was much better and allowed you to generate more bar speed off the floor in order to blast on through the rest of the lift. That’s the way you want to do it going forward, and keeping your air would probably make the lockout easier for you, too.
Good stuff.
Nice way to come back after it!
Fuck yeah, way to come back and rip that bar off the floor Ink!
AC, I got a race to win. Come at me, bro.
Novaeer, thanks a lot man. I appreciate the critique and I see what you’re saying. I think i feel like my head’s going to explode about knee level, so I let some air out, but i should really hold it all the way through the end. I’ll work on that. Thanks.
Kalle and Herc, thanks guys. I was PISSED when I missed it. I knew I had it in me, I just needed to re-focus, change songs on the iPod, and not look at the bar this time. I haven’t been looking down when pulling lately, but that first rep I did for some reason.
DOMS is creeping in like a mofo right now, gotta keep moving!
LWI dudes.
Try wearing your belt a little more loose and possibly lower (if it is ‘comfortable’). Get small breaths before you pull rather than one big one - watch a video of Mike Tuchscherer pulling and that should give you an idea of what I mean. You’ve got a 500 pull in you with just a couple of tweaks!!

I’ll do that, thanks man!

Come on now, don’t play with my emotions like that!!
Awesome pulling dude, really impressive!

No, seriously, I think you are a lot closer to that number than you realize. When I first started powerlifting, I went from 435 to 500 in a little over 12 weeks and the most important things were just cleaning up my form. Of course, now I’ve been bouncing around the 500-550 range for 4 years now. :-/

Haha, I hear you though man. Thanks again. Just watched this:
and yeah, this guys setup and pull looks awesome. Maybe I need to focus more on getting set and rocking back into a star position than just getting when i want, shooting down, and ripping it up. Thanks again
That’s an individual thing, but I’ve found that putting my over hand on first and ‘pulling’ myself into position that I’m able to find the best starting position on a more consistent basis. Grip and rip never worked for me.
Mike T is a beast and is right there at the top in squat and DLs. Following his advice on those lifts is a good place to start.
