TNT

great job! nice lifts :stuck_out_tongue:

Holy Hell Court!!! Nice lifting. Congrats on making class 1.

Thanks everyone

I went in to the gym yesterday and did a few sets of maybe 8-10 reps of squats with just the bar and a few sets of 7-8 reps of bench with just the bar. I wandered around a lot, biked, stretched, etc. Just got the blood flowing.

This week is going to be a super deload…I’ll go in 3-4 times and just go through the motions basically. Saturday when I’m back at the club I’ll put some weight back on the bar (light). I’m goign to stay out of gear for a few weeks while my body gets settled. Afterwards I need LOTS of work in my shirt before I move so I can use it myself in Cali. I also am going to try a smaller squat suit. I may buy my own gear at some point, but I may just continue to borrow peoples

The body feels good today. I’m wide awake, not too stiff. I’ve also already dropped a few pounds. My diet is back to clean today to shed a bit of weight while I figure out my next steps. I won’t be competing in Canada again until next April, I know that much.

Good stuff Court … we can’t wait to read about your next crazy journey!

Oh the joy of deloads. Everything feels heavy after a meet

Squats:
45x10x1
45x5x1
95x5x1
135x5x5

Deadlifts:
135x5x3

Bench:
45x10x2
65x10x1
85x10x1

Then I went home. Chatted/spotted Scottie between sets. I was in late so it was quiet which was nice. Now it’s bedtime.

Niagara Club

First off, I need to get in here every Saturday because they keep me sane. Or maybe they are just so crazy that they make me feel sane in comparison. Either way, I love my club.

The plan was to go in and deadlift since I didn’t really deadlift last weekend at my meet. I didn’t have my suit with me so was just going to go heavy with my belt. Well Coach Frank remembered that I mentioned wanting to try a smaller suit (I’d been in a very loose 40). He brought in with him a 36 wide stance Super NXG+ and told me to put it on, so I did. Hilarity ensued.

Deadlift
135x5x2
185x3x1
Frank showed up, and after 10 minutes the suit was seated:
225x1x1
275x1x1
335x0.5
350x0
335x1x1

The first 335 I started pulling, it moved a little slow off the floor, I leaned back into the suit, the weight flew up, I continued past lockout and fell backwards, almost crushing my leg with the weight and smoking my head on the bench behind me. The second 335 was a clean easy lift.

Then did 10-12 minutes of cardio trying to get the suit off with the help of 2 of the guys. At one point a 3rd came in, but there were too many hands around. We decided we were much closer after that since I was standing in my underwear while they undressed me and that I made their week.

I’m definitely feeling the post meet crash. My mental game just isn’t there. I should have been able to lift the 350 but I just had no fire. It’s alright though, I’ll get through it.

Holy smokes. I’m glad you escaped anything serious.

Ditto, especially after being knocked cold by the soccer ball last week! Or was it the week before. Perhaps you should call now and schedule an MRI a month or two from now, since it appears you will be collecting a few more closed head injuries between then and now…

I am busting your chops, because I, too, tend to have…unfortunate…accidents. My bf says I am a klutz. I just think I am a magnet for unusual accidents…

The guys just laugh at me because whenever something like this happens, I get the giggles. I giggled the first time I almost dropped 180 on my face at the club before the meet, I giggled when I almost dropped 185 on my face at the meet and I giggled today when I almost got dismembered with 335. At least each time I do it I’m moving up in weight

More than anything, the guys just said I didn’t expect the weight to come up that easily…which I didn’t. Last time I pulled 335 (which is my current PB) I had to work fairly hard for it. When it flew up so fast, I wasn’t expecting it so was still pulling hard and leaning back into my suit a lot which threw me off balance. When I did it the second time and knew how to expect the weight to come up, it was good.

Court, I’m gonna agree with chrysalis. Go ahead and schedule an MRI.

*psst… someone take away Court’s car keys, blender, lawn mower, cell phone, and anything else that may or may not explode/cause injury.

As soon as it happened I thought about this video actually. Then I wished I had gotten it on video. A video would have been classic because I was lying on my back like a turtle and had to be helped up. There wasn’t enough room for me to roll over and the suit was too tight for me to just sit up in. Good times.
