So Court, are you ready or what, it’s Saturday right?
You should totally get those pink wraps from APT.

I am definitely ready! I’m dying to get out there already. Aras has my body all fixed up and I’m good to go.

Last night however I had something happen to me that would only ever happen to me. I went to watch my co-ed soccer team play since I wasn’t doing anything this week. There was about 2min left in the game and I saw that my best friend’s phone had fallen out of her bag. I stood up, bent over to pick it up and put it back away. In the half second that I was bent over, a line drive ball came and hit me in the head. It hit me in the left half of my forehead and essentially twirled me over so I landed on my right side. I was out for about 10 seconds.

Thankfully my best friend is also a PT so she took care of me. We got one of the guys to drive my car home because she wasn’t letting me do it. Apparently I was white with a green tinge to me. I had all the initial fun of headache, dizziness and blurred vision to indicate a mild concussion. She tested my motor skills when she got me back to my house and her and my mother laughed at me. I feel better today, but have a lingering headache and a bump on my forehead.

As one of the guys pointed out to me…this will just make me even more crazy to do stupid things on the platform. “Do stupid things” is one of the older guy’s mottos… apparently Monday he arrived to training late and squatted 2 plates cold for 5 reps in his running shoes. I’m hoping he’s able to make it on Saturday. My fingers have been crossed all week!

So yeah, that’s my story. Feel free to laugh. I’m pretty sure when I told a few of the Niagara guys they all just about peed their pants. I love them too.

Made my morning better … hahaha … Glad you’re feeling ok though … looking forward to hearing stories from you meet buddy rather than stories of balls hitting you in the head (typical … nttawwt)
I’m used to them in the face, not in the head… I think that’s why I was so confused. :stuck_out_tongue:

Glad you are OK! Maybe you should wear purple and green to match the bump on your forehead?
hahaha thanks. The bump isn’t bruised, it’s just literally a bump. I’m sticking with pink and black!

Wow! She must be a good PT. Not many people can differentiate a blonde with a concussion and…well… a blonde.

Thankfully she is also a blonde, so she just compared my actions to hers.

I hate you btw. You get no cupcakes at the meet.

I am a fan of you because you get into stupid accidents like me. I once caught a baseball bat with my cheekbone.

I learned to not talk back.

(Joke people, it was a joke!)

ohhhhh penelope :frowning:

Court, I’m not laughing at you. I’m laughing near you. Next time, get video and post it. We posted our loser videos.

ouch… that did not sound fun… and hey I feel your pain but anyone video that thing? =)

just so I can share in your pain, … no laughing

I’m glad you are ok!

I didn’t laugh, I swear!

I’m laughing, but only in that “I know your pain” sense. I’ve taken a few too many baseballs to the noggin over the years. I’m sure I’ve suffered some brain damage as a result.

No videos. Sorry bitches.

However one of my teammates did run up to this kid on a bike, asked him if he lived close, and got him to go and get ice. He was back with it before I was even sitting up.

I just came home from work. I couldn’t focus on anything and my headache just kept getting worse the more I looked at my computer. Therefore, I’m done posting for a few hours while I sleep.

Wussy.

You know with the Actress who just died recently from a fall when skiing, maybe you should go get it checked out. Just to be on the safe side.

Back to lurkerdom for me, love your thread.

Death is still afraid of Court. She throat punched Death last time and then promised to leave her alone.

Not to be all chicken little, but you did lose consciousness. That coupled with a blow to the side of the head would have me a little nervous. Please take care and consider getting imaged if symptoms escalate or do not improve.

No sleeping w/ concussions. Didn’t your bro teach you anything with his youth?

court, I’d go back to the doc if you could…better be safe than sorry, I always say…

Besides, doesn’t a certain someone have a certain meet coming up?

Yes I do, but let’s keep this about Court.

Did you wake up, yet Court? The vision problems worry me. I know your friend checked you out, but maybe you should go to the dr? You need to be tip top for your meet, after all.

Sorry, you can just call me Mother Hen.

I appreciate the concern everyone, I truly do. My issue with going to the doc is that in order for anything to be done about it, I’d have to go to the ER. Which means I would wait approximately 5-6 hours to see a doctor before they even determined if I ‘had a concussion’. Then I would get to wait for them to decide if they were going to do anything about it or just tell me to go home and return if things didn’t improve in x days or got worse. Chances are, since I’m conscious and coherent, they’d tell me to go home, rest and go back if things got worse.

Welcome to free healthcare.
