Thank you all of you. Means a lot. Update she’s breathing on her own now and conscious and talking. Still is in heparin for blood clots in the lungs. Has a long way to go and lots of surgeries, but she’s still with us and the docs think she will make a fairly close to full recovery. No nerve damage or any internal bleeding. Things are looking up. As much as they can.[/quote]
Great news. Her body will heal. She will be fine. Maybe not 100%, but she’s alive and alert and that’s all that matters.

Yes sir, she’s with us and has no brain trauma which is a miracle.
Update in the whole saga of the ordeal. She has surgery tomorrow morning. They are going in to assess the damage to its full extent and plan a course of action. One knee is crushed, both ankles also broken.
The little piece of shit who hit her is fine. And I call him a piece of shit because he hit her on purpose trying to commit suicide. Told his parents this and posted it on Facebook that he was going to run into someone and kill himself in his car. He was in a ford explorer and her a Honda civic. He’s already been discharged with just bruises. The DA has filed attempted murder with a deadly weapon on him among another felony and a few more minor charges.

Son-of -a-Bitch!..May the little bastard die of liver cancer and roast in hell over a slowing turning BAR-B-QUE pit.
What a fucking coward…Didnt have enough guts to blow his own brains out.

Can’t you father pull some strings with old connections to give the mouse coward what he wanted?

I am sure he could, but the lawyers are already on the prowl. It will be civil suit galore. The kids parent’s have money and as her father said, “I don’t want his ass in jail. I want him working and paying my daughter for the pain she will have to deal with her entire life due to his selfish decision.”
I agree with him here. I mean realistically we are looking at least a good 3 year + recovery maybe more with all the rehab going to be needed. The sad thing is she has a 14 month old little girl and a 8 year old step son that she is going to miss so much with. I have them both right now. They came to stay the night with uncle. So, I get to get 1 5 year old to kindergarten, a 8 year old to 4th grade at 2 different schools and deal with a 14 month old who is extremely mobile haha. I will be playing Mom today and however many days after I need too. Luckily they are all good kids. And my little niece is adorable.

The fucking selfish cowardice here churns my stomach. Shame he failed. I hope his family pays dearly.

Hell yeah!
Thanks for the updates, hope you don’t mind but I’m passing the very general situation on to some church friends to keep you in mind from a few states away.

Hey man, that is unbelievably good news! I know most people don’t really believe it, but God is in fact good. Still got your back bud.

That is absolutely undamnfuckingbelievable. If you really wanted to commit suicide, hit a tree for fucks sake! That is fucking twisted.
The most important thing though–she’s with you and her family and her kid. And brain trauma free. That’s a miracle and deserves some celebration anyway

We will take all the prayers we can get. And anything I have shared here is more than welcome to be passed on to prayer groups, people, anyone. The docs are estimating shes going to need at least 10 surgeries to piece her back together maybe more.
Great to hear she isn’t damaged as bad as initially feared, she has a long road ahead but is blessed to hav people like you and her/your family around her.
I can’t really comment much on the piece of shit, I feel sick reading it. I hope a kommodo dragon eats his arm.
What kind of fucking pustulent, little, toad tries to kill himself by hitting someone else? That kind of evidence is pretty close to a slam dunk, though. Goddamn.
I wish her a speedy recovery and I wish you and yours all the best.

Man I have no idea. I don’t understand some people’s reasoning and thank you. All the well wishes are very kindly received.
Update on her:
They were going to start surgeries tomorrow to piece back together her mangled lower body, but her red blood count was too low. They gave her 2 more pints of blood and are hoping this afternoon to get started if her red blood count is up.
Is she able to keep everything and they are just trying to get it repaired so she’ll walk again? I hope so, that’s rough. I haven’t posted in this thread because this hits pretty close to home. My uncle, aunt, and baby cousin were killed in an accident by an irresponsible/careless driver. I never met them, they died before my time. It wrecked my father who was very close to my uncle, they hunted, fished, and lived together in college.
I wish your sister-in-law a healthy, positive recovery and I’ll keep you and your family in my prayers. Its always astounding that even as defensive as you can be as a driver - or in anything - you can’t avoid all situations. If the self-suicide attempt is true, God help that person if I would ever get my hands on them and they did that to someone I cared for - they’d wish for a quick death. People are ridiculous and selfish.

Thank you for the thoughts Quasi. They expect her to make a near full recovery. She has no nerve damage as far as they can tell so far. And her back and spine are not broken just from the waist down. She will have a long long road of rehab and surgeries, but with enough time and care should walk again semi normally. She is going to have a lot of metal in her though.
And it was 100% intentional suicide attempt. He posted it on his facebook and via text to his parents. And has now admitted it in a statement to the cops. Absolute scum and this happens not 18 months after her parents lost their first born daughter. This is all they have left. Her dad is a mess and her mom not much better. I can’t even imagine what they are going through.
About to go have dinner with her fiance. I have been in the similar situation albeit worse, but very close to what he is going through. Seeing the one you love intimately laying there with tubes everywhere, unable to move, and you can’t do anything for them is debilitating especially for a man when it is your woman.
I can only imagine that the grief/concern is all that keeps the rage from surfacing.
This is a bit off topic, but WTF with Facebook? That is seriously a shithole cesspool, just like Twitter. Dude posted this and no one did anything about it. Worse, he feels its a worthwhile “update.”
I hate people more and more.
I hope and wish you guys the best. I’m glad she’s going to recover. As you know, she’ll need her family, and you guys are there for her. A strong support structure from which to rebuild. You’re a big man Bauber, physically, and in the heart.
