with the new liberal congress(good or bad to be decided)what will the outlook be on hrt? will they be more receptative to it? or same old crap?
The new guys have no more interest than the last administration in having men feel like men.
Now shut up and get in line for your mandatory flu shot!

Seriously?
Has a liberal agenda ever benefited anyone in this country that takes responsibility for their own actions and holds themselves accountable?
The state of Politics in America is a shit pile, and the smell from Washington will only get worse.
I find it humorous that there are liberals roaming around T-Nation. It flies in the face of the ideals on this Forum.

Yeah, some people grow up and realize that:
-wow, the real world is complicated, and there are rarely easy, cut-and-dried solutions to complex problems.
-when the entire world disagrees with your country, maybe everybody else isn’t wrong–maybe your country is.
-maybe that old saying “the easy thing to do and the right thing to do are rarely the same thing” is true, even in politics.
There are quite a few freshmen congressmen coming in, many of whom likely have little exposure to the issue. If you really care then why don’t you write up a few rational and well referenced letters to some of them (have someone bright, rhetorically talented, politically aware, and otherwise apathetic towards your issue review it if you want the greatest possible impact) and see if you can’t sow a seed or two of progress? The reason I say “a few” btw is that the most effective argument for each will vary considerably depending on their background.
Maybe someone needs to start a testosterone PAC.

None of that answered his question. The Bushes are responsible for much of the regulation now on anabolics and the current attitude in government concerning them. They weren’t “liberal”.
Good grief.
Neither side of the aisle has a lock on stupidity in legislation. They’re both “Government” and they’re both “Big” and they’re both overly intrusive.
PX - “The Bushes” weren’t liberal, but they weren’t shining examples of conservatism, either.
While not HRT related, it may get harder to get the right nutrition to support your squat rack curls.
With ethanol programs already driving up the price of meat, your protien sources will be more expensive.
Liberals like to tax harmful things into oblivion like cigarettes. They view cholesterol and saturated fat as a major health threat and runoff from dairy and beef, pork and poultry operations as a problem, so a new meat tax may come into play.
Also, as in California, expect the animal rights groups to gain more legislative support for less dense living conditions for market animals, driving up overhead for those operations and therefore costs.
But, when the wife bought milk yesterday, it was only 2.40 a gallon, when we were usually paying 3.60 at Costco. Not a trend, but I hope so.

Not so fast.
Joe Biden - you know, Opie’s VP? - was THE leading Senator on getting AAS moved to Schedule III status. He was the guy who faced off with both the FDA, the DEA, and the AMA when ALL THREE told congress that there was no evidence at all that AAS was addictive, or mind altering in any way.
Blame Bush if it makes you feel better, but you voted for the head asshole in charge of where we are now with respect to Steroids.
In Opie’s defense, I have read a few blogs that suggest he might put the War on Testosterone on the back burner. I think if the mood were right Obama could actually be a pro-steroid guy.

Good stuff RJ. The fact of the matter is that drug prohibition is still a go forward policy of both parties. I would not expect the status of any drugs to change except for making them more illegal, not less…The best case scenario is that they will be preoccupied with other matters such as wealth redistribution and socialized medicine, that they’ll just leave wel enough alone.

From what I have read, it will be the enforcement of the laws that will be chilled. Congress can make all the rules they want, but if Opie freezes the FDA/DEA budgets, AAS prosecution will be slashed.

PX,
I’m not exonerating the Bush Administration - they are an embarassment to Conservatives. My point was that we are 2 months away from the most Liberal Government in our country’s history. Let’s see how much “good” they will accomplish in the next 4 years.
RJ,
Nice post. Let’s hope Opie puts the war on T on the backburner. For all we know, Biden may end up the Puppet Master. Time will tell.

Maybe. Maybe not. We only know for a fact that one of the three won’t be President anymore.
No - I am not wishing Opie to be whacked. I’m just saying that the last time a Dem was in the whitehouse, he was impeached. There are no guarantees.
Anyhow, when it comes to AAS decriminalization - I am as close to a single issue voter as one can get without actually crossing the line. If Obama steps up and makes an attempt to put an end to the madness, he can’t go anywhere but up in my book.

Well they didn’t behave like a true conservative should have.

I was more pointing out that the rant from the previous poster about “Liberals” made no sense especially in this context. Much of the legislation and attitude about these hormones was not instigated under a Democrat or a Liberal.

The damage was done in 1990 thanks to a Dem Congress led by Joe Biden. GWB had no play in the opening of Pandora’s Box.
Bush Senior signed the bill, but it was the Biden-led left who rammed it through.
There is way enough blame to go around - tagging Bush’s name to this without including all of the the sorry motherfuckers who had a hand in it is being disingenuous at the very least.
