Lewis v Klitschko - Dday Patricia

greek: hey, just saw a headline in Fight News that stated: “Hopkins Targets Toney, Oscar!”

Kostya is a bad ass - you’re right, he doesn’t duck anybody and that’s what boxing really needs. Lewis is a pussy because he ducks people. If it wasn’t for the dreads, I would think that his mouth was an asshole cuz when he talks, he sounds like a big turd!! You never know, his ass hair could be that long - and braided

Whoever said Jones needs to fight Hopkins is correct. The only problem is that if Roy Jones Jr puts down his best against Hopkins’ best, Jr will win. Remember the rib cracking punch? I think I remember the first fight, and RJJ wasn’t on his game. I could be wrong, don’t remember very well.

Right now, boxing needs some badass heavyweights, cuz those are the fighters the non-boxing fans will pay to see. They want to see the big punches and knockouts, etc. If they only were true fans, they would know the best fights are in the lower weight classes, where fighters pound on each other and come back for more. God I love boxing.

SKman- It was not a pay-per-view because Tyson (who was originally on the undercard), backed out.Lewis can’t carry a pay per view, sad.

Jones-Hopkins falls under the category of “been there done that, no money”, so Roy won’t do it, nor do I want to see it, as Roy would kill Hopkins. Now De La Hoya- Hopkins, that would be a fight.

Jones- Lewis, this fight will more than likely happen. On Satuday Jones could have beaten Lewis. Jones is fast, Lewis was slow. Jones has knockout power, and Lewis has no chin.People want to see this fight, and it would be a huge payday for both fighters. Lewis will either win and go out thinking that he is the man, or get beat and retire a chump.

Hopefully the latter.

I dont think a win would be as easy as most say for Jones facing Hopkins.

Jones never knocked him down or hurt him. Hopkins has a very akward style that most fighters have problems with.

Do you guys think Jones has enough power to hurt a HW or do you think he could knock one out? on the flipside, do you think he could take a HW punch?

Vitali has never been truly beaten, only by a torn infraspinatis after outboxing Byrd. Wlad was the one who got smoked. Vitali is better than Wlad as an all rounder. More durable and strong, less skills. I predicted an early KO for Lewis against the untested VK but was proven wrong, damn that cut.

To tell you the truth I don’t even give Lewis the cut. If you look at the tape you’ll see that Lewis smashed and scraped his head against K’s right after the punch. Thats even what K said during the post fight. And as far as PPV, I’m glad they’re not on there as much. I have a huge fear of paying $29.99 and being ripped by a 89 second fight, remember the Tyson fights?

Jones/Hopkins never happens, IMO. Hopkins might be the stupidest man in boxing. Why is it that a guy that destroyed Trinidad, who, at the time, was considered one of the best boxers of our time, can’t get a big fight? Because he’s pissed everybody off and completely alienated himself. He’s always upset about somebody or something. No one wants to fight him. Roy certainly isn’t going to waste his time.

I’d like to see a Toney/Jirov rematch. The first fight was great. Big action from start to finish, which is unusual for cruisers.

good stuff in here…

I see some people still underrating Roy. Roy has fought everyone you can think of and has come out victorious. Whether out of shape, not in physical form, not well prepared, he finds ways to win… Why? because he’s just that good, he can find a weakness or a method to beat his opponents at any given time. Lewis has really no chance, he’ll chase and miss, get frustrated and fight wildly and run out of gas. Roy will exploit that.

Hopkins, no way. Hopkins is great but nowhere near Roy’s level. Hopkins absolutely not a good fight. Maybe hopkins versus Julio Garcia, or even Oscar, but Oscar is small, he’s a legit jr middleweight. Most junior Middleweights are heavier but loose water for fights. Oscar weighs the same before weighing and days after teh weigh in. Not strong enough for HOpkins. I’d like to see Antonio Tarver versus Hopkins. Or Jirov versus Hopkins.

The best fight though will be Gatti vs. Mayweather. Mayweather will run and box while Gatti will chase and slug. But Gatti can run and chase very good…

Kotzyu is exciting, he needs to fight Miguel Cotto an up and comer who has more talent and skill than his record shows. Only 15 fights but all dominantly won.

Shit, after nationals, If I win it. IM asking for a pro card. Man, Im gonna train like a madman.

Da boxer

boxer al: What weight would Hopkins and Jirov fight at?

I read an interesting announcement on FightNews today. Supposedly Holyfield is going to fight Toney. I know Holyfield is over the hill but this is still an interesting match up. At heavy Toney will be fat and slow and Holyfield will have a natural size advantage. This is a good fight for Holyfield to test his surgically repaired shoulder.

Ko- point taken about Lewis not being able to carry a PPV without a name opponent. Still, with more time to promote it the fight with K would have been PPV.

On RJ Jr. the fight with Hopkins may have been close but he supposedly fought him with one broken hand (according to him anyway). As for Michalchevski(spelling???) don’t make me laugh! Yes he is undefeated, yes he is a decent fighter, but he is no where near Jones. Just look a how he struggled with some of the guys Jones dominated at light heavy (Richard Hall etc.) I would definitely give Jones a slim chance against Lewis because of his speed, but all Lewis needs is one decent punch.

SKman,

Thank you. at least someone else agrees that Lewis vs. Jones wouldn’t be a good fight.

I back Toney. Seen it happen too many times. The slide over the hill is a fast one.
