LEVRONE?S RETURN?

Kevin Levrone is returning to competitive bodybuilding. We heard the rumors back in December - rumors that Levrone had requested an invite to the Arnold Classic - but we didn?t believe them. Now, we?re hearing them again.

This time, from the man himself. Appearing on Pro Bodybuilding Weekly on Monday, Levrone announced his return to the sport. Sort of. We think.

?It?s definitely in my plans to return to bodybuilding and win a Sandow,? Levrone said on the show. ?Just like it was in my plans to turn pro. My ultimate goal is to win a Mr. Olympia and that?s what I plan to do. But I got to get started on it very soon, because the clock?s ticking.?

How long would it take to get back into contest shape? ?Eighteen weeks,? Levrone said.

When pressed by hosts Dan Solomon and Bob Chicherillo, on whether or not he could be ready for this year?s Olympia, Levrone answered, ?Definitely. I never trained all year round for a Mr. Olympia or any of my competitions after I tore my chest. And I do think I could be ready for the Mr. Olymipa 18 to 20 weeks from now and walk on stage probably around 245 pounds, the same way I left the stage in [2003].?

What’s crazy is that I believe that he could pull this off in 18 weeks!

Currently, he more or less looks like a regular guy. You wouldn’t be able to tell that he was a bodybuilder.

But I have heard that he packs on huge amounts of muscle in short periods.

If I’m not mistaken I think that he only used to train part of the year even in his prime.

I hope he returns as well, I too think he had one of the best physiques.

Muscle memory is some crazy stuff, I know its a ton harder to gain new muscle than it is to regain muscle from personal experience. It took me atleast 6 months to get back where I was from lifting 8 years, Kevin is way bigger so has more to gain back but is going to have alittle more “help” than I did!!!

I wonder how big he could get if he trained naturally now.

Wait a minute…doesn’t he have to qualify for the Olympia first?

He could still pull it off (competative shape). I thought he wanted to concentrate on his movie career. Since he just finished his work in the movie REDline, maybe he now has a few months stretch where he can focus on his training. I would LOVE to see Kevin win! I thought he should have won back in 98.

All it took was Jay beating Ronnie at the Olympia now all the pro’s that retired because they thought Ronnie would reign forever will be back. This opens the floodgates. Next I predict Shawn Ray. Anyway I hope he follows through on his word.

Yeah, but the stretch marks are going to be UGLY.
