Levrone is Back!

honestly, after seeing his latest chest video, i think he could make a comeback…

It’s been great watching these videos and his progress. After watching the last few workouts it seems like he is getting back to his old-school mindset. What a badass.

you know he thought it out the week before or something

“i need to do a session away from my happy mood and say nothing and give evil eyes to make everyone think im so focused maaan”

i know a gimmick when i see one. and im not saying he doesnt train hard regardless.

My thoughts exactly, come on I like the guy, and like what he’s doing, but he is an “actor” now. Maybe he wanted some serious stuff for his portfolio.

You both may be confusing him with Arnold.
I would like to think Levrone has more authenticity than this - he doesn’t need to fake greatness in order to be crowned the best, these are Arnold tactics.
If Arnold had one bone of authenticity in his body he would have not become a politician.
I would be more disappointed in Levrone for becoming “Hollywood” than if I actually found out he was cheating with drugs.

Kevin Levrone is an actor, just not a good one. he was obviously trying to be all super hardcore by not saying anything in his vids to show how serious he is when just a week ago he was all happy go lucky. i mean its not hard to spot bad acting and that was bad acting.

OR, he was acting previously and is now finally getting into the mindset he had when competing. He was pretty serious when he trained on his videos and even when Shawn Ray and he were training. [/quote]

his other videos felt a lot more genuine. this seemed really forced just way too different from his other vids.

After seeing that vid, I’d have told my spotter to chill out on touching the weight every single time I repped it.

I see nothing wrong with what the spotter did. From my perspective, he didn’t help the bar at all but rather was there the entire way in case Levrone needed help sooner rather than later. I ask my spotters to do the same thing and having their fingers there doing nothing till necessary helps me mentally. I can usually bang out more reps due to not having to worry about the weight failing and knowing the spotter is fully attentive.

I don’t think so, especially now that hes in the later stages of his “transformation”. If anyone trained as hard as he does, they’d probably feel the same way.

Fair enough; to each, their own.

I would find it distracting, particularly in regards the the HS benching.

Livefromthe781,

I don’t know how far back you have followed Levrone but I saw more than one video, right here on T-Nation when I joined in 2005 where he was training at night alone with the spotter, ultra focused, did not like the camera attention on him, and walking out with a hood on, almost hiding from the limelight. That stance, from my experience of him, is the real Levrone in bodybuilding action. It doesn’t mean he was not genuine in the more conversational and interactive phase, it is just the real bodybuilder athlete in him out in that ‘silent’ video.
He is a completely different character from Arnold. I like Arnold as an entertainer, I just don’t think he deserves the 10 or however many consecutive wins he had ( specially with no legs and no shoulders hence the huge peaked biceps in many poses ).
Arnold thrives with attention and will train harder in front of an audience/camera, it doesn’t mean he loves being there for us, he loves us being there for him, : D
Levrone is more: I am what I am and let me be it.

These are my observations. Of course you may feel differently but before you bash and brand the guy as ‘acting’ give us some facts for your observations not just your subjective interpretations.
From your first comment in this thread you have discredited him, I have yet to see a positive comment about Levrone’s efforts ( acting or not ) coming from you.
Maybe you just doubt Levrone all together, no?

I think X’s observation is spot on. He may have been doing some playful acting to gather momentum. Maybe he didn’t know himself he would ever feel passionate about lifting again, maybe like someone above said Levrone also sees he could in fact come back into stage, maybe you should post a question on his blog and ask him…

I don’t know much about early Levrone, but I completely agree with your last paragraph here. In the last training video, you can just see IT in his eyes. It’s almost like he’s starting to remember what it felt like. He’s got that look… kinda like Vegeta after getting the Majin possession from Babidi… or like Hal Jordan after killing off all the other Green Lanterns and taking their rings. Anybody else see what I’m talking about here? Because it’s a little scary.

I can see that yes.

Another video is up. It’s the last time we will see him traning legs.

When levrone puts the hood up,you know hes going balls to the wall on the exercise!

There’s a feast of competition era Kevin on youtube too, i’m sure most of you know

Some funny exchnages in that one

also

as examples

lmao@ how many you do? 10? RAAAAAH …11

He’s a fucking beast. I want that feeling!

Arnold didn’t fake greatness, he was just confident and he had charisma. he walked up on the stage like had already won…I doubt that Kevin was more serious about his training then Arnold.

Kevin tore his peck and i doubt anyone with a uneven chest will ever win the Olympia. The idea is that you are symmetrical right?

Say what you will about Jesus, but let’s leave Arnold out of it.

Just kidding Jesus!

Week 7 photo. He is still making clear progress, lossing tons of bf while ganing muscle.

What the fuck? It’s been like seven weeks; that’s straight fucking ridiculous.
