Let's Define It

That’s why I brought it up.

And your first “holy shit” link isn’t working.

No way to call that huge or holy shit level imo.

It’s no different than a shorter guy of similar proportions to me… He is simply taller and thus weighs more/has larger measurements, but he hasn’t actually achieved any more phyisque-wise… Of course he’ll still look large if you’re 5’10 and step next to him (but if you are really big, it should still be obvious that he isn’t all that developed by comparison.)

Now, his strongman feats are another matter of course.
so 6-6 375 only gets you “big” on the C-C scale? =0)
You know what I mean man. If you’re huge, you look like it.
Just being tall and thus having to be much heavier than a 5’10 guy in order to look the same in relation to your height doesn’t change that…

http://s.chakpak.com/se_images/118374_-1_564_none/tall-woman-wallpaper.jpg

There. One is tall and seemingly huge compared to the other, but she looks no more impressive from a physique standpoint to me…

Lee Priest is/was one of the largest guys for his height. Would you classify pfister as larger than priest in the BB sense just because he is taller?

I’m going by development here… And pfister isn’t at all huge for his height all things considered. And I do think that he can likely get bigger naturally still, unless there is some weird absolute weight lbm limit that works regardless of height…
I was only joking with you. But I still wouldn’t tell pfister he wasn’t huge to his face. You’re scale really sucks for tall guys. I would kinda think it would be harder for some with his genetics to fill out as apposed to a 5-10 guy. I do think “big boned” guys like him should get a little credit for that.
I don’t know man… They can hold more food at a time, no?
You may be right of course, after all a guy like Freeman takes much longer to fill out than someone like Priest. I myself am 5’10 so judging guys so much taller than me (Pfister) is difficult, there aren’t that many like that to begin with and I’ve never trained anyone over 6’3 I think…

Still, I seriously doubt that pfister even tries to get as muscularly big as possible (naturally or not), that’s also something to consider.
EDIT: And if this ranking is meant in purely bbing context, I apologize. I was thinking of this in more of a seeing guys walking down the street/personal opinion context. If that isn’t what was meant, my posts are way off topic.
Ah, not really purely BB I think, I meant in terms of muscle. vs height actually… But there is some BB stuff that comes into play imo. I’d find it hard to classify someone as “holy shit” if his arms, shoulders, traps, back width etc look underpowered compared to the rest of him.

And as I said, I don’t usually classify people that way (if I classify them at all), just trying to figure this out myself tbh.
Professor X wrote:

I think we can all agree on that… He really exemplifies the holy shit class… Lots of muscle for his height…

Trevor Smith (RIP) would be another one…

Went up to 415 lbs I think? Taller than victor.

Big bike haha

Plus height isn’t the only genetic thing in BBing. If you are going to compensate for height, other things should be compensated for too.

Oh, and aren’t Priest’s arms like 22"? 22" arms are big period, even at over 6 feet.

I think skinny should be someone like male fashion models I.E skinny with some muscle/abs. That picture you posted should be classified as skinny fat female with a penis.

Spot on I’d say.

I think the symbol of hugeness on Ronnie’s era was him and Markus Ruhl, it can turn into Kai Greene, and maybe Phil Heath a bit wider can join there.
DoubleDuce wrote:
Of course. And usually I wouldn’t compare zavickas (sp) to a bodybuilder anyway, but hey, if we’re going by development as we seem to be doing here, what can I do…
FWIW though, I gave that example of Ruggeria (I can’t find the damn double-bi shirtless pic anymore, I think he posted it on a certain other board where he’s a mod “liftin’heavy” or so), so you can definitely have arms qualifying as holy shit as a powerlifter for example, but kenelly on the other hand doesn’t… Ruggeria did quite a bit more arm work as far as I recall from the routine he posted. Kenelly also does some of course.
Matt K is another example… Not holy shit like Richards etc but definitely no more than one class below that. I’d put him with guys like JJ. He has the delts too for example.

Hmmmm. Okay, you’re right, though again, at 6’6 and with very long arms I don’t know… Lean probably yeah.

Waterbury claimed 20 inch arms, but honestly they looked like 16.5-17 would on a somewhat shorter dude even in his leaner shots.

But yeah, that is one of the things I meant: Priest is short but due to the amount of muscle he carries for his height and his proportions, there is no mistaking his classification, right?

I’ll bite, I like it.

lol, yes, priest is holy shit in my opinion.

But I do think kennelly’s arms are holly shit, Mendy too while we’re at it. I remember a kennelly interview a while back he claimed 21" arms, relaxed and over 18" forearms. And from what I’ve seen, he’s bigger now.

(mendelson is pictured)

Mendelson’s skull sure looks “holy shit”-esque hahaha

I’ve never seen a really good full-body shot of either Mendelson or kenelly though.

They’re both very heavy…

Is that kenelly? : http://www.houseofpain3.com/wlsnews/images/Kennelly_new_6.jpg
Doesn’t look as big there anymore/yet.

Oh well, as far as powerlifters go they’re both holy shit I suppose. I wouldn’t put them at ruggeria’s level though, or at least not without better pics.

There shouldn’t even be a discussion in what’s clear for most.

I would actually put John Cena in the Huge/BB catagory he is fucken beastly.

I try to think of every category as a spectrum. In the case of John Cena i would place him at the top of the Heavyweight/Very big category. At least visually speaking since Bob Sapp is 340 lbs but also about 6,7 tall while having inferior conditioning/proportion to Cena.

Likewise i placed Poundstone in the Huge/Bodybuilder category even though he is the same weight as Sapp he still has superior conditioning/proportion and is only about 6,1. Also Arnold has virtual identical stats to Cena (6,1 240 lbs) but i don’t think there is any debate that Arnold would look bigger then Cena due to superior conditioning/proportions.

Hope that explains my decision.
