Let's Define It

compared to modern standards, and seeing what other people are posting , probably heavyweight or maybe huge.
See that’s just it. I think people are now deciding what they call big or huge based on what other people here posted. I’m more curious to see what people actually think themselves.

I’m not…unless they train seriously.

The last thing we need is every newb logging in calling Brad Pitt big.

That was why I corrected the “huge” above…because that ain’t it. “Huge” is for guys who truly don’t fit in. They are the ones who if seen on the street, would possibly get cars slowing down to stare at them.

I posted my views and got called out on a few of them. It’s like saying “Your opinion is wrong.” I can see a general consensus eventually being reached as to definitions of each category, but in the end, mental placement of people into these categories comes down to personal opinion (and probably the individual’s level of development), the bigger you are, the less likely you are to be impressed by a physique.

Big:
Riddick (Vin Diesel)
He’s only a little larger (and a lot less lean) than reynolds (taking height into consideration) there.

It’s not a very good picture. He had some decent size during that movie. I could be wrong though. Keep in mind that this is all a matter of opinion.
The first time I watched his movies I thought “pretty good, esp. for hollywood”.

Second time through and with a brighter monitor setting, paying attention to his physique… He really isn’t much bigger than reynolds was in the pic you posted… Mostly has some additional fat on him (and a little muscle perhaps)…

FWIW. I’m not calling you out on that vin diesel thing, I just wanted to point out how easy it is to classify 2 people of almost the same size as 2 different categories.

Originally I also thought vin was significantly bigger, but after close examination I changed my opinion.

Kinda working out:
Ryan Reynolds in Blade
Does anyone else think he looks like he just “kinda works out”? To me, it definitely looks like he lifts weights (could be just bcuz he’s shirtless). I guess he’s a tweener. Not big, but definitely not a kinda-works-out.

Gotcha. No worries. haha. I just grabbed all those pictures (except the one of me obviously) off the internet in a few minutes. Maybe he’s not truly “big”, but I don’t really think he looks like he only “sort of works out” either.

Big

and the G.O.A.T.

Agreed. That’s “big”.

I personally think “kingbeef” is now hitting “big” as well.

I think we should hold onto the ones most of us agree on until later and then post them by category one after another.

fair enough.
How about Frank Mcgrath for Huge?
No complaints there at all.

Hugo Girard, the biggest person I’ve actually met. Ex-strongman, police officer and strongman event’s animator.

-Huge

Holy fuck for me always brings up images of Poundstone, Pudz, dried out plers (kroc) and of course, heavyweight bbers. Huge, as a few posts up shows, to me is an nfl linebacker, lewis, bart scott, demarcus ware, and some rugby players and thats where I put the gym rats I know, well the ones that are good gym rats.

 1. Christian Bale in The Machinst (legs not pictured due to the graphic nature of said content)
 2. Me at a whopping 6’2" 195 lbs circa 2006, bench 315 x 1, pullups bw x 10, 15" Upper arm
 3. Me at an improved 6’2" 270 circa 2010, bench 325 x 10, pullups bw x 11, 18.5" Upper arm
 4. Derick Poundstone
 5. Yates (he’s prolly a 7?!?)

Holy shit.

Damned right.

Might even throw a “JESUS!” and a “What the!!?” in there too.

That’s my goal. If I can get people calling on the son of God when I walk by…MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

Let’s be serious with this. Bail was anorexic and sickly in that movie. That isn’t “skinny”. That’s BONY.

… holy shit.

The mid ground is open to interpretation but for the extreme ends of the size spectrum there is no denying the obvious
