not Olympia but a past GP,
pls, look at 3:01, it’s VERY impressive, Marcus was the biggest,no doubts at all, many said that traps&delts means Ronnie, well , look at Markus shoulders width…

They both look to be carrying generally similar amounts of muscle mass.
eh!
Prof,pls, look closer.
Rhul looks like he has bigger biceps and his chest is ridiculous, but it’s not like you would see Ronnie and think Rhul just completely eclipsed him at all.
Marcus is bigger, carries more muscles than Ronnie,Marcus shoulder width and chest is real UNREAL…
anyway, Ronnie genetics is much more competitive; i mean that Ronnie’s proportions is a lot of better than Marcus but , in some poses where counts the size (read; most muscular) Ronnie can’t compete…

All of those guys on stage are about the same level of “big”. Rhul is a fucking monster but not big enough to require his own category.
Let me also say this…part of the reason I made the thread was all of these posts we always get about how some guy knows some other trainer at his gym that’s “huge” but told him to do something retarded.
Considering Plitt above is actually considered “big” to some of these guys, coming up with some general guideline we all agree on is what the goal was.
that way, we can just show someone the thread once they start acting like someone like the cross fit guy qualifies as HEEYOOOGE.
Plus, it allows us to see where we actually fit ourselves. Dieted down, I will be lucky if I hit “huge” by my own classification.
The guys at that level are pretty much super human. “Holy fuck shit” is pretty much alien.

I definitely think he holds his own, but I just don’t see him walking away with it.
Then again I find myself constantly drawn to marcus’s tries. I would really like his physique if it weren’t for his damn tries.
In the most muscular I think marcus has him in his chest and maybe traps, but I like ronnie’s arms shoulders (especially the front part of the delts) and legs better.
Just my uneducated opinion.

Respect your opinion but ,just for me, Marcus shoulders width is the biggest I have seen, on the other hand Cutler -at last MO- was really close…

Good addition. I’d put myself somewhere in between “works out” and big. I do get comments from random people and people can tell I lift while I’m wearing a shirt, but I wouldn’t put myself in with some of the guys listed in the big category.

Prof, is see your point but - don’t wanna act like a philosopher. but the truth is taht there is no objective reality, in plain english this means that for me “huge” is a 18inch arm , for enother is a 23inch…
“huge” for a lifter (bber, stronman,PLer) is different from other people.
so, again don’t wanna cut an hair in two…I see the need for two different classification, one for people, one for lifters.
big for lifters is -often- unreal for soccer players.

That would only be true OUTSIDE of the very defined activity of bodybuilding. In every day life, most would see me as “huge” or whatever. We aren’t talking about comparisons to average people. In that case, we are all huge and can quit the thread right now.
Yes, there are very defined aspects of bodybuilding that, even in a subjective field, show what specific markers are.
There are no guys built like Plitt who will win a bodybuilding show today unless he is the
only guy competing. Therefore, he can not be “huge” in bodybuilding.
We can discuss the mid range classifications, but the ends of the spectrum are defined by our own sport, not ourselves personally.

DD, same for me, people in the street ask me if I lift but even If I have lost 33lb of fat and added pretty muscles/strenght I feel that I need at least 20lb more of raw muscle to say “big”.
Problem is even with HARD/FAILURE training and daily 2gr of protein per kilos (200gr)I’m still gaining/adding strenght but not so fast I expected LOL
just neck is real big…

This sort of highlights to me how different us guys who take an interest in this sort of thing view size. I get comments all the time, people groping me and shit, and have even been stopped in the street a couple of time, believe it or not (when wearing a t-shirt - both times by guys hitting on me in some way) but I am not even beyond “works out” on that scale.
It also makes me glad that my standards are no where near as pathetically low as most people’s.

Works out.

Holy Shit!
It would be cool to put together a list with pictures, all with one guy, throughout his development.
The arguments spurring from the minor nuances of each word and what it means to each person is getting kind of ridiculous. Everyone is impressed by different things. While some people may be less or more impressive in pictures, in real life it may be the opposite.
For example, I think pretty much all the top 10 Olympia competitors are holy shit wtf huge. Yeah, maybe Hide and Rockell are a little smaller, but with a little more bodyfat and in clothes, they would look retardedly large.
RE that fitness model Greg guy: how can you say it doesnt look like he worked out in clothes? It’s quite clear from the picture posted that he is quite developed, and like you said, has to maintain a certain size for different photoshoots.
To 95% of people I meet IRL, I am “big” or “huge”. I know this isnt true. It’s all relative. If I stood next to Prof X IRL, I probably wouldn’t even look like I lift.
Can we all just keep trying to get bigger and get along?

Lol if you were going to go all the way to “holy shit,” we wouldn’t have that many guys to choose from.
bugeishaAD wrote:

Because someone posted a picture of him in clothes and he doesn’t look like he lifts much. He looks lean and like he may have done some biceps work but not like someone who we have been classifying as “big”. You can’t see his chest through his clothes and his shoulders are actually fairly narrow (something he may do purposely because narrow shoulders may mean more modeling gigs).
That is why that distinction was made and also why we said we know he looks like he trains but HIS SIZE is what this is all about…ie the LEVEL of muscle mass someone is carrying.
