Let's Answer Everyone's Burning Questions

Considering that 1/2 of Europe (Russian empire, Hapsburg Austria Hungary, prussia, Poland (before getting dissolved into former 3), Romania) has/had the eagle motifs prominent in their crests, turkey would have at least made the US unique

Bald eagles are proud, majestic, fierce, etc. But- you ever eat an eagle?

Yeah, me neither. Turkey though, yum!

I think Ben was right.

To be fair, turkey on its own just isn’t that good. It’s best as a meat that add leans protein to whatever you want to put it in rather than a flavor base.

Turkey meat belongs in sandwiches and cat food only.

Bald Eagles soar, they are Majestic

perfect choice for America

turkeys put everbody to sleep with their hand in their pants while watching football on the couch

Yep. Nothing screams 'Merica as much as that does. Definitely should have gone turkey.

R. Kelly thought he could fly, touch the sky, etc.

Look how that worked out.

Then theres Icarus.

:man_shrugging:t2: I’m liking team turkey more by the minute.

Yeah, i guess after the last 20 years

The soaring and majestic just isnt there

I concede to the turkey

Guess that just proves living up to a symbol loses its luster after a period of time

TBH we often cuddle the opposite way, I’m the cuddler and she’s the cuddlee, leaves one hand free for me which we both enjoy  and I don’t get hair up my nose…
When it is this way around I always find it very comfortable but I do tend to heat up a bit, especially if I’ve done a workout that evening, my body runs a lot hotter for a few hours after cold shower or no.

I’ve heard a theory that no one actually likes the taste of lobster. Everyone just likes the taste of butter and lobster is pretty much always cooked with lots of butter.

Turkey is the same. With the right amount of smoke and pepper, it is quite good. Bacon wrapped–same idea. But turkey is just a delivery vehicle.

This just gave me an idea for a campaign slogan!

ā€œDon’t reach for the stars. Reach for Turkey. The other-other white meat!ā€.

Thanks man. :+1:

 How do I get this back together?

Ohh! My own personal Event Horizon! Made with real Evil! ā„¢.

@EmilyQ , if I may, I have a question that may be somewhat up your alley, and if not, at least within your realm.

In the most recent parent/teacher meeting there was some discussion of testing my kiddo for the gifted program at school. We all agreed he should give it a shot. So we started the paperwork, etc.

But he gets a little nervous with standardized tests. So we figured getting him some practice would help with test nerves.

So, do you know of any free online resources for practice testing?

I ran through a couple of google searches and they were all geared toward prep packages, and $$$.

What grade level? My wife is a tutor. She may know of a site that has some.

He’s in 5th grade.

Just going to chime in here, as a diagnosed gifted child. The program isn’t like the SAT.

You don’t need to study for it - it’s not pass/fail. Think of it more as an analysis.

If your kid is gifted they probably won’t do studying anyway, ace a test, but get lower grades because homework is boring. You already learned it, so learn something new with your time instead.

That’s the gifted thinking pattern.

It’s this restless curiosity and ruthless learning, and usually accompanied by a very nonstop sense of humor where jokes can be flipped either way. Quirky is fun because it gives a dopamine pop to analize, deconstruct, apply, re-analize, craft, and deliver a quip.

Most people hate it.

It’s just a different way to assimilate information and emotions, doesn’t mean it’s just a higher IQ.

Anyway, I hope that helps, but I know you’ll do right by your kid.

Edit - it was actually my favorite class from 3rd to 6th grade, but then I convinced my parents to do a mail-in homeschooling course. Which meant a two-year independent learning course.
