Burning question: what does everyone think about the new ā€œadaptogenicā€ alcohol replacement drinks, the ā€œfeel the floatā€ type drinks?

I bought some Hiyo, and while they’re tasty, I have yet to notice anything feel-the-float-wise. Now I’m seeing cannibis-added drinks sold online.

Bullshit marketing or is there something there? If you’re a fan, what brand?

Most of the ā€œadaptogenā€ ones are underdosed and BS

I tried one to appease the person who got it. Didn’t notice any difference.

I think they’re wierd. I went fishing once with a couple guys i know from meetings who drank n/a beer the whole time. They asked me why I didn’t have one. I told them that if I wanted a beer or 12 I’d just get real ones. :man_shrugging:t2:

Same with the other stuff. If I want to feel something I’ll eat a handfull of shrooms or do some acid.

Its like for people want to get high without getting high. I dunno.

Is this like Kava tea type stuff? Those places are popping up all over my area.

So for example:

BREZ is a next-gen social tonic made of micronized full-spectrum hemp (a federally legal variety of cannabis) and organic Lion’s Mane, an adaptogenic mushroom that is reported to provide a sense of clarity and energy, while the hemp-derived THC and CBD may provide a sense of calm and inspiration. Each 7.5oz can features 25 milligrams of highly concentrated Lion’s Mane craft-extracted from 1600mg of organic fruiting bodies alongside 2.5mg of THC, 5mg of CBD, and 5mg of minor cannabinoids, producing a truly full-spectrum natural entourage experience that sets it apart from all other products on the market.

Brez is unusual in that it offers ingredient amounts. Hiyo doesn’t, but here is their marketing. In their case, I think @anna_5588 is probably right. I’m just wondering what others are finding.

hiyo is a long overdue alternative to alcohol. shop bold flavored tonics to feel the float. a social tonic that provides a stress-relieving, mood-boosting effect without the

I’m not interested in mocktails, more in mild, manageable good feelings. Weed, but subtle. Alcohol’s nice feeling, but without drunkenness or hangover. I don’t want to be baked or wasted, and certainly not tripping.

Old school for me

Coors light
Blue moon
Bloody marys on the golf course
Rum and cokes

None of that fancy flavored crap, lol

I would try kava tea for that kind of effect. I have tried it and it is mildly relaxing.

I will say that I was feeling shite the other day and impulse bought a sachet of some ā€œrelaxation drinkā€ from whole foods and whatever they put in that is definitely not underdosed

Yeah, this stuff is showing up everywhere with all kinds of grandiose but barely proven claims since the one shroom guy came up with a method for commercial production.

In nature, they’re not rare, but not prolific either, and definitely not in quantities to supply a beverage in nationwide distribution.

Same thing happened with maitake when their methods of production became reliable and commercially viable.

Yeah, I was always the guy hitting the gas where everybody else hit the brakes.

My burning question is: why are lean people, and also lean and fit people, volunteering for the protein diet thingie going on?

Are freebies to people like a flame to moths?

Was this a very politically incorrect question to ask on a TN forum?

yes. especially when freebies are in a ā€œluxuryā€ price range

You know, I think this is why we agree so much. I was always told I’m not they guy who will start something, but will pour gasoline on it.

And on that note, I got freebies. I’m happy.

Some people just want to watch the world burn.

I bring the marshmallows. :smiley::+1:

Why is there no turkey lobby? There’s one for dairy, pork and beef, but no turkey?

No campaigns about it being the other-other white meat, no commercials making it look wholesome or cool.

Wtf? We need more turkey! I’m eating a cranberry bagel right now and it occured to me- A big slice of turkey breast would be awesome on this. But no. No reminders on TV , no turkey. :slightly_frowning_face:

Its like the turkey producers of America are fine with one big hurrah every year then just the supply required for club sandwiches & whatnot and some Renaissance festivals.

I dont know why, but this hot take one is making me question life. I need answers! Ben Franklin thought the national bird should be turkey, not eagles.
