Ok now I’m curious. I’m two years into my cabinetmaking apprenticeship
I made furniture, mostly coffee, end tables, and the occasional bed. Shaker style is what I liked to do the most. I think I have a few pictures floating around somewhere I can upload later.
nope. The company name is Joe Tipton Inc. In Garland. website is filterclone.com if you wanna check out what we make. We manufacture dust collectors for large drills. Joe was my Grandfather. But we can do a lot of other stuff. We have a plasma cutter, cnc machine, bunch of welders, sheer, hydraulic press brake, etc. And I work closely with a laser cutting shop and a machinist. So anything I can’t do in my shop, I know someone who can.
Dude you’ve made some cool stuff! My next project is probably gonna be replicating a mouser block. I just need dimensions. I’m gonna take a look at one in the next couple weeks. But I’m fairly certain I can make one for less than the 700 bucks Paul charges.
Careful what you wish for. He may throw up blueprint!
I would kill for that! It’d be a hell of a lot easier than taking the measurements at a gym myself and all that. Prints make my life so much easier.
I was blown away when he posted the blueprint for my cambered swiss bar. It was extremely kind of him to take the time to do that.
I definitely appreciate the effort he put in to it.
I know Paul Mouser, so I would feel a little bad if I drew that up and posted it to a public forum.
700 bucks is really steep though for what amounts to 6 pieces of 1/4", and some pipe.
@ChickenLittle
It wasn’t a big deal. Beat staring at my screen waiting for people to show up to work.
That’s pretty cool. I make solid timber stuff for myself, mostly what the company I work for specialises in is showcases and exhibits. Which is also cool, because the work is very varied.
yea exactly. I would absolutely not build this for anything but personal use, I would never undersell him. He’s a good dude. I respect his intellectual property. But like you said, I also can’t justify paying that kind of money when I probably have enough scrap lying around to put it together in a couple hours. I’m really just interested in seeing it in person to see how it’s reinforced to make sure it can take some abuse, where it wears the most (if I can improve on it I would), and how the feet are attached/constructed.
I’m terrible about taking pictures of anything. The only two I can find are these. A rocker cradle in my favorite style, and a little end table which is very southwestern, where I learned about hidden mortises and that the quality of a chisel really matters.
I like the end table especially.
Good chisels and saws make a big difference. Aussie native timbers can be stupidly hard, so I got some japanese chisels as soon as I could.

Some backwards progress on these this week, probably from the incline to failure 3 times.
I heard they have dropped another event from the Arnold, Now it looks like its going to be three events All on Sunday,
Log for reps,
Arm over Arm Pull
and the Seated Deadlift lives to antagonize me another day.
Little irritating seeing as how I hurt my shoulder training for an event that is dropped now, but oh well. I’m going to have to do really well in those two events to have a chance of placing in the top 5.
I did have the meeting with the owner of one of the companies I work for over my angry email/phone call. He agreed that most of what I said was correct, which was vindicating. Looks like I still have two jobs for at least a few more weeks. ![]()
Progress!
Grrrrr! Why couldn’t they have dropped that one!
Nice! Now you can use the climate control in your house ![]()
Its easy for them to set up, it draws a crowd, and the Europeans absolutely love it for some reason. Especially the Brits.
My one man war against it hasn’t penetrated very far yet.
NEVER!!! ![]()

Probably my last workout until after the Arnold. Feeling good. Shoulder is back to 95+ percent. And I’m stronger than I was this time last year. Now if I can manage not to do anything too stupid for a few more days I should be good to go.
I sewed together a strongman harness this weekend, so we can add that to my list of things I have made.
You know there is a thread here for that. It’s in the off topic section. Show us what you got!
