Latest TRT Shenanigans (Please Be Nice)

Hello my fellow community of T Nation members knowledgeable on hormone/testosterone replacement therapy. Forgive me in advance if I am the unenlightened one on this topic but I am bewildered as to what just recently went down (figure of speech).

I previously had labs and physical, went through an online clinic for TRT and they infused the Test Cyp with Anastrozole.

Fast forward, I went through a new clinic about 3 months later. I was able to make a purchase of TRT including supplies and consultation. I corresponded with the patient rep, registered an account/created user and password on patient portal, I received an email with multiple pieces of information and one part read, “What to do AFTER consultation”. Long story short I ended up clicking the link underneath and submitted an order for my medication (perhaps I didn’t follow instructions given in that section of the email but still). About 5hrs ago, I had the consult with the person that said he works with the doctor although the Dr.’s name was what was showing as who I was having the virtual consult with. I have already received the package of TRT meds today (literally a few mins ago).

The instructions concerning dosage are exactly what he said he was going to prescribe based on my labs. Seems sketch; much? He asked if I had any questions and I asked but the only concern I had was that the last TRT protocol I was on included 200mg/ml Testosterone Cypionate and 1mg/ml Anastrozole and this protocol is prescribed 160mg of Test (twice weekly injections) although it is a 10ml vial of 200mg/ml.

S/N: My previous protocol also included Gonadorelin Acetate .2MG/ML

Any thoughts or suggestions (please feel free to respond with any information or similar experiences you all may have had).

Thanks!

If you didn’t see a doc or ARNP than Yes that’s sketch. Still, I like solo 160mg test over your last protocol. I am on the same dose and take mine in two 80mg shots per week. No ancillaries needed.

I don’t know about the 160mg vs the 200mg dose, but I definitely do not like the anastrozole infused with the testosterone, therefore this is an upgrade.

You had your consultation and received your testosterone five hours later? I’m not sure how that works.

Yeah, I’m not sure what his title was. We spent like 40+ mins going over into and I kept asking questions until the screen went black. He said he had to go and that he was already 10 mins late for his next patient.

Exactly! Their system has to be flawed and not very organized. When I made the initial purchase on the 8th, I received an email afterwards that contained a link to the medication order form (The header of this particular section of the email does say, “URGENT: WHAT TO DO AFTER THE APPOINTMENT WITH THE PROVIDER!” After filling the form out and submitting it, I received an email about the prescription being sent to the pharmacy. Today, the guy that I saw said he’ll write my prescription out and that I should have it in 7-10 days (I didn’t say anything about how I already submitted the medication order) but since I was able to fill out the medication order form prematurely I got it sooner. It came via FedEx 2day delivery.

Still, I feel like I was thrown on a cookie cutter protocol because the label tells me to take the same dosage that the guy said he was going to prescribe for me based off of my labs.

SMH.

SN: I was at 277ng/dl for total t and 10pg/ml for estradiol; I didn’t see any results on free t.

Please tell me these are not the only labs your doc requested. This is sounding very malpractice.

Sorry, if that part was not clear. I elected to share those two hormone values. I used the same labs that I was required to get for the previous clinic a few months ago (via Labcorps) which included CBC With Differential/Platelet, CMP (14), Test, Estradiol, PSA, & TSH Rfx on Abnormal to Free T4.

It doesn’t matter about the Free T, unless SHBG is at 5, your Free T isn’t expected to be good.

The Total T and E2 are low, only course of action is to get them up.

Thanks! I was desperate and started the Test Cypionate infused W/Anastrozole (about 2 months in). I felt some difference but now that I have the Test only medication I’m hoping this will be the game changer. The only concerns I have now is the online clinic I went through doesn’t seem to be very well structured (In my opinion) and the difference in the prescribed dose (from 200mg at the previous clinic to 160mg at this most recent clinic that I’m going through).

It could be but it also may not in which I encourage you to stay positive. It took me a year to get dialed in. Some get lucky sooner and some take even longer. IMO you new dose is a good baseline dose to start a test only protocol.

Thanks brother! I really appreciate you and the other guys’ responses. I know that I previously stated that the only concerns I had was the difference in dosage and the clinic not being very well structured (in my opinion) seeing that I was able to submit a medication order before seeing the doctor then receiving it about two days later on the date that I saw the guy that was in place of the doctor but another concern is that he mentioned that depending on where my estradiol is in 12wks when I have to submit updated labs that they may have to prescribe an A.I. to bring it down.

I’m not sure if I should start trying to home brew or find another clinic with a more competent provider already. I have a 6 month commitment of ordering TRT through this company. It seemed legit from the convo I had beforehand with a rep that said he is on TRT this clinic, and with his shared insight on how the doctors are (according to him), along with the price being very affordable compared to some of the other clinics I made the choice.
