***also if you think connecting to the muscle is just a quick - remind yourself, oh yeah MMC, i got it…then you’re nuts.
the mind travels when we train, meals vary, strength and attitude vary, many things sway us daily from the tasks at hand. i can’t speak for everyone but training and connecting to my back was a much more involved process than learning how to effectively contract my biceps.
learning angles and origins from and of where to pull from for my particular body type and movement pathway took time, if you just do a fly or just do a pulldown and don’t really take the time to understand the ROM and the effective peak range of ROM within that broader ROM than you might only be filling your glass 3/4 to the top so to speak.
now sometimes, i do just try to survive, lifting can be more instinct based, when i pull a heavy deadlift or squat i might just be thinking survive, kill, kitten, freedom…whatever you mantra --it varies among individuals i suppose.
the point…i love little baby kittens, how can you not?
the point…much like a million pitches, or backhands, or brushstrokes -the practice and correct form saves you and allows for auto pilot when we are in kill mode.
this shit isn’t rocket science but what kai is addressing is that there is a deeper connection and it serves us in the gym, and in life, to strive for it each time we have an opportunity.
****the truth is when i read certain responses, i’m happy. i’m happy to be me and not some of you. i try to think and operate under the pretense that we re all given about the same number of marbles in our bag from the jump…this is not the case. i am glad w/ the number that is in my bag. oh neat, the blue one has specks and swirls. and it’s unfortunate that some of you have so few marbles to knock around.
fucking d-dags some of you. off to train arms for the 3rd day this week are you?[/quote]
haha
I see now why you like Kai.
