Yeah he got a little prickly there. I guess I deserved that irrelevant retort. Inaccurate as usual though it was. I know you agree with me here though ZEB. Bush AND his entire presidency continue to be lied about in truly mind boggling fashion. I have had no problem criticizing him either, but the smear campaign on ol GW is sumthin to behold indeed.
I want you to call this election right now Tirib. And I want you to call the exact percentage that each candidate will get.

Are you up for it?
I don’t even think you’ve bothered to call that specifically. Why ask him then? What do you think percentage wise?
I know who is going to win but if I tell you guys then that will take all the fun out of it for you. Sort of like peeking at your gift before Christimas. Now you woldn’t want me to do that would you?

Would you?

I put mine up in the “winner of the election…” thread, so yes I would. What’s your call?

Nate has already essentially addressed this as well: (you may have already seen this). Nov. 2: For Romney to Win, State Polls Must Be Statistically Biased - The New York Times

For Romney to win the state polls have to be statistically biased (coin has to be unfair scenario). Guess we will find out (hopefully!) tomorrow night. It’s too bad I’m watching for a Johnson win lol

I second this. I have decided and then gone back on my decision a half a dozen times since this morning.

In case anybody cares, my pastor is on the radio live right now, talking to a guy who knows Romney personally but will be on until six EST talking about the election generally. In the end you have to look past how someone votes and pay more attention to how they represent themselves as a person. Granted I don’t always agree with you. Um, yeah that’s safe to say. But you are a good guy in my book!

Ahahahaha…truth.

One thing that I just noted in pouring over the polling data for the past 32 years. In the final analysis Gallup has overestimated the democrat’s final number on every single election since 1980 except twice, Gore and Dukakis. And I think the Gore call was changed because of a late revealing of GW Bush’s DWI. In other words, the democrat win or lose had a bit less of an impressive percentage on election day than what Gallup predicted. Seems those who were complaining about Gallup not being fair to the democrats have been quite wrong. It seems that he aired on their side repeatedly.

First column was the final poll, second was what the candidate actually earned:

2008 Obama 55.0 53.0

2004 Kerry 49.0 48.3

2000 Gore 46.0 48.4 (this is an anomaly I think because of the leaked Bush DWI)

1996 Clinton 52.0 49.2

1992 Clinton 49.0 43.3

1988 Dukakis 44.0 46.1 (This was a rare underestimation of the final democrat tally, not sure why.)

1984 Mondale 41.0 40.8

1980 Carter 44.0 41.0

Let’s see if Gallup follows with an overestimation of What Obama gets on election day. Something else that will be interesting to watch.

Intrade pulled hard for the President today, he’s closing strong in the polls for sure. Romney has been going the wrong way since Sandy.

I don’t think Sandy hurts Obama EV wise at all, but it could definitely hamper his popular vote numbers as the Northeast struggles to vote. I’d say a Romney popular vote victory went up because of Sandy, but EV might have went down (again assuming later polling is accurate).

This is the big question, for sure. If the polling turns out to have been accurate, this one’s an easy call.

But I’m pretty convinced it hasn’t been all that accurate.

Lol saw this on another forum: Keep in mind this is a week before the last election!

Punditry is so self serving on both sides.
