I fought some and im pretty even when it comes to win-loss ratio. I was no Mirko Crocop but I’d like to think I was Igor Vovchanchyn. I never gave up. Even when I probably should have and it would have save me the bruises and black eyes, never gave in. Just for you guys and for you younger guys; There is no shame in losing. The important part is that you tried and that you at least hurt the other guy too.
Every other day. Part of my job.
Last time I punched, as a proper fight, was a motherfucker in a nightclub, a year ago. That fucking perv knocked out one of my girlfriends cold, only because she pushed him away for dancing too close and grabbing her boobs.
I’m so fucking hey-ooge that whenever someone wants to step up, they piss themselves and leave the room sobbing.
Funny that this thread has been created; I feel like punching out my manager. Every. Single. Day. Normally I would feel bad for the guy because hes so effeminate and because his roommates take advantage of him but when there’s is a person that is weak and he’s suppose to be your leader, you lose your patience. You lose sympathy or even compassion. You just want to stomp this person out and kick his fucking teeth in.
I have not punched anyone as an adult. I did get punched once. Here’s the story: I was 23 and at this club with some friends. I started dancing with this girl and dude comes up and says that he had been dancing with her and just left to go to the bar. I was my usual smart ass self and a verbal altercation ensued.
Dude gave me a quick right to the cheek and I swear I have had chicks slap me harder than that. It was so pathetic that I honestly didn’t even get mad and I usually have a hair trigger temper. Just look at him and was like “Really dude” in a super calm voice. The look on his face was the most demoralized I believe I have ever seen someone, it honestly worked out so much better than getting mad.
Bouncers took him out and the chick, his friends, my friends, and others standing around were laughing at him. I have to say that was probably more gratifying than punching him.
Way too long ago.

What are you doing for a living? MMA fighting?

My last full-out fight was when I was 32, with my wife’s brother of all people. He was drunk at my house setting off fireworks on the 4th of July and I asked him not to aim them at other people’s houses on the block. He pushed me, I pushed him and we were off. I was the one who stopped it as I didn’t want to send him to the ER and cause hard feelings in the family. We got over it and it’s basically forgotten.
Another good one was when I was married a short while, I was maybe 29. I was with my wife and a bunch of friends coming out of a club on Long Beach late at night. There were some maybe slightly younger guys on the side and one made a comment about my wife’s ass. So I go over to them and ask the one guy what he said… he says something idiotic so I plow him one on his cheekbone below his eye, he falls and gets up and swings at me. I proceed to beat the living crap out of him in the parking lot.
His friends didn’t make a move since the guys I was with told them not to. So we leave, my wife is crying. I probably should have let it go. The incident made the paper a couple of days later, a little blurb. The facts didn’t match up, so it may have been another fight.
I was a local Golden Gloves boxer from age 8 to 16, had 3 brothers and lived in a tough neighborhood. So it was either learn to fight or be a victim.

If someone said something about my wife’s ass (assuming it was a compliment) I would have yelled thanks
I got into a ton of fights from teens to late 20’s. I changed schools in 10th grade and got into a ton at the new school, probably once a week for several months. It seemed like everybody who had something to prove wanted to prove it with me. Being the youngest of 4 brothers, I already had a lot of practice from home and would beat people down very quickly.
Into adulthood a friend of mine used to go around what ever bar we were at and tell people that I was talking shit just to see the fight break out. That got me really good at knocking people out as fast as possible. I quit going to bars with him. Then a couple of short stays in jail and people wanting to test you there.
Anyways, the last fight I didn’t even throw a punch. I just wrestled the guy around and let him loose until the cops came. As they came through the door I dropped my guard and the guy connected with a sharp right hook. All the police saw was the guy appear to sucker punch me and they were on him. He thought he was getting jumped from behind and started fighting the cops, so they beat the living hell out of him. That was 14 years ago (27).
Haven’t gotten into any fights since I quit going to bars.
Last time I punched someone outside of a boxing/MMA context, my girlfriend at the time left a party and came back with another guy. I already had suspicions, she was one of those who was “still friends” with her ex. So when they pull up, as soon as he steps out of the truck I blast him right in the face.
Turns out… it was one of her friends from high school who was in town visiting family and she wanted to introduce him to everybody. I felt like such a massive jackass I haven’t punched anyone since lol

That was a dick move. Even if it was true, blame the girl, not the guy.

She helped him back in the truck and they left. Last time we ever hung out, but I deserved it. In my defense I was only 22-23 at the time, young and dumb, but you’re right, that was a really assholey thing to do. Thought he was someone else and never gave him a chance. Now I won’t punch anyone unless they provide photo ID and personal references lol
Doubt this counts, but I go home and volunteer for what is essentially MP duty at checkpoints a couple weeks out of the year.
Dude tries to shove through into a market without a pat down (we had a report of someone wanting to bomb an arab market); I stop him he attempts to clock me and run, hits my helmet, and I pound the shit out of him with my rifle butt (old fashioned M16 with the heavy stock) until he stops moving.
(Turns out he was an escaped felon wanted for rape in England, had an Interpol warrant, and didn’t want his ID checked. If he had just watched, we weren’t checking ID, just looking for strap-on bombs.)
That was week before last.
He’s my first and only criminal I’ve caught.
Couple of actual fights when I was in the active service; none remarkable.
hockey fight a couple years ago. Guy was a total goon and just tried to start shit all the time. After the whistle he crosschecked my teammate up near the face so I shoved him and he grabbed my head and tried to separate it from my neck then I punched him in his mouth. I threw 2-3 punches for every one he tried not sure what landed and what didn’t but it was a good 45-60 sec match ended when I decided to take him down.
I have never punched a human being. I have broken a table with person’s body, but no punching.

I worked with this kid Ryan (#16) for a while. The goon thing you mentioned reminded me of this-
I guess he busted a few bones in his hand with one of those last punches.

About a month and a half ago. Got into it with a family member, one of the young bucks (over 18 though) tried to step up and disrespect his mother’s house with some bullshit. When I tried to explain the concept of “her house, her rules”, he felt a little froggy and decided to jump. LOL. It got serious when he figured out he wasn’t going to beat me with his hands, so he pulled a knife and actually cut me with it.
Had to open up a can of whup ass - cops got called and everything. I kicked his ass like he owed me money! Just had court about it today, lucky for him it was a null process. I showed up and told the commonwealth of VA that it was just a misunderstanding and I didn’t want to press any charges - we hugged it out.
Fucker learned his lesson, though - his mother said he’s not getting into trouble or doing any more dumb shit, so it was worth it.
Sometimes young men will push thier boundaries a little too far. And the only thing that’ll get through to them is an asswhuppin’.
Dude! getting in a scuffle with drunken relatives is one thing but trying to stab you?! that’s pretty damn intense!
Most the times I have been hit or hit someone else recently has been in just training martial arts and boxing stuff. No outside scuffles for a while lol

I’ll be the first to admit I have a very “unique” family. We put the fun in dysfunctional.
Can you count how many times youve been stabbed/sliced?
Jeez
As for me, stopped bouncing a little over a year ago, at the time i was bouncing at a bar owned and staffed by some former/current gangbangers so you can imagine with the type of crowd that frequented the place that i had to get my hands dirty fairly often. My favorite was when we whooped some gangbanger in the middle of the dance floor on thanksgiving and then i dumped him in the alley out back for the cops.
Since i quit bouncing ive been in one brief fight, circumstance dictated that i disengaged before i had the chance to really beat anybody’s ass. Ate a few punches (cheap shots) for my troubles. Think thats about it.
When I was 23 me and a friend of mine were in some shithole bar and some dude knocked my drink out of his hand because I started talking to a girl he was into. No punches were thrown but we did throw him into a karaoke machine breaking it and we had to leave after that.
Almost, 10 minutes ago…
I am a calm, collected individual…
I am a calm, collected…
Holy shit, I am not even mad, I just want to punch a certain individual so bad right now…
With a tire iron…
Yeah.
