I would eat a nice breakfast and use the mulit vitamin, extra C, fish oils, and my normal supplements (but more throught the day) creatine/glutamine, gatorade, protein shakes, protein bars, light whole grain sandwiches, fruit, etc… I felt great and had good energy. I stayed away from the ECA or stimulants just because I tend to ramp up fast and crash hard.
Good luck[/quote]
Thanks a whole hell of a lot, really appreciate it!
Yeah, I really don’t think I’m going the stimulant route either, I get pretty stoked without any of that. I will take Power Drive, creatine, and tyrosine beforehand which should be enough.
A little bit of luck sure won’t hurt, thanks again!
I was thinking beta-alanine might be good, but not actually sure how to take it during the meet, maybe before and a little after each event?
I used a lot of water, I mixed gatorade with creatine and glutamine several times through out the day. I’ll be honest I bet I drank 10-12 32oz gatorades during that day maybe more. I bought a case from Costco, I also ate quite a few bananas, apples, protein bars and protein shakes. Had a few lean meat sandwiches (4-6) throughout the day and took my vitamins with extra C maybe 4-6 throughout the day.
The meet was quite long and drawn out. By time it was over and we were heading for our long drive home I was cramping and hurting pretty bad, but I had a good outing for the meet and that’s all that counts.
Also luck is always nice, but good planning and mental focus are going to help out more then you know. Picking your opener and planning ahead are key, and if/when you miss a lift your will and mental power really need to come out. You train hard for meets and some don’t know how to transition to over come. If you have been into sports you know not to get all wound up and stress/nerve your self out of the game. Just know you can mentally over come anything and you’ll do fine.
I noticed when you take the immune supreme on an empty stomach in the morning, you would sometimes take only the IS. Why do you not have a protein shake with it as a staple, or does the IS have protein in it?
I have a question if you don’t mind answering, I read Poliquin is against constant state cardio and advocates interval training, what is your take on this? Just thought it would be interesting to see if you follow that guideline.
