What does this mean then?
Sorry, you’re right clarification is defintely needed. The innocents in my mind when writing this would be the daughter and fiance. The cock suckers he feels so wronged by would those in the LAPD. Like I said, frustration lead to that post. Do I really think he should be going around murdering anyone? No, of course not. There was a bit before that bit I erased, but didn’t go back and clarifu that bit. I’d also be lieing if I said I would never do something like this if put into a situation he is in.

You also left out the part where I said any other ‘legal’ option he may have had wouldn’t have done anything. If this is the path he choose to walk down the involvement of family members was unnecessary. Maybe I deleted that part, too.

Also, saying I wasn’t sure what the proper recourse is any more, I’m not trying to say that murder is definitely 100% warranted. Being a pig and called into active military duty this is all this guy knows. If he were a lawyer or a baker or a national forrest warden his actions would have been completely different.
Please. The guy was fired from what many consider to be a shit job. He had a university education and was commissioned in the Navy. He had options. Dorner is an egomaniac and was crushed that the LAPD said he wasn’t good enough. I know a few cops who felt their dismissal was unjust, and not one of them killed anyone over it. Most of them moved on to other departments.

Getting fucked out of a job sucks, but it’s not a call to arms.

weird that americans are all so obsessed with guns.

seems to be a constant number of crazies throughout the year going on shooting sprees.

yet all you get is old haggard roid heads like push harder posting endless BS about defending himself like some crazed paranoid whack job.

in civilised developed nations NO ONE has this paranoia or always insists on being “strapped” while going to buy a carton of eggs or whatever.

it is really really weird.

I don’t get people who are bashing this guy, This is almost to the T the scenario in the Rambo movie, and everyone thinks Rambo is a badass hero. Same story here, former military man comes home, decides to serve his country further by joining a police force, has run ins with a highly corrupt force who he clashes with, they try to frame him and he fights back.

It is unfortunate that someone who is trying to do the right thing either has to live the rest of their life knowing that the system just butt raped them and they were too weak to change the system, or go on a killing spree rampage to forcibly effect change in a broken system. Unfortunately 10 times out of 10, corrupt and violent people raise to positions of power and authority. And when enough good people get abused by these corrupt, violent people, then the good people have no other means to change the circumstances than to also resort to extreme violence.

I laugh at some comments I read in the news article commentoshpere. “violence is never the answer” Uhhh, are you stupid? Violence is what earned our country it’s independence from an oppresive British regime. Violence has historically been the only answer. If someone is going to kill you and your family, you had better resort to commiting violence on that person before they do it to you. I also find it laughable that almost every news article has put somehwere in the story. “Oh BTW he has an assult rifle” I wouldn’t be too worried about him and his assault rifle, I would ve very afraid of him and his .50 cal sniper rifle though, I mean if I was a corrupt cop.

You should probably be locked up somewhere. This is just sick.

If the only reason he is doing any of this is because he was fucked out of a job then he’s clearly unstable.

I just can’t believe this is the case. There has to be more to it than that. Or, perhaps I’m just naive and ignorant.

I haven’t seen anything else that suggests it’s something other than his alleged wrongful termination and claims of racism within the department.

Smear campaign.

So an outside perspective from his former classmates constitutes a smear campaign?
Looks like you didn’t even read your own link or what Dorner wrote that drove him to snap.
The article suggests that maybe he isn’t the victim he claims to be. Getting fired from a job doesn’t justify murdering innocent people.
Did you read his side of the story regarding him being “fired”?
I posted a link to the unadultered pdf of his “manifesto”.
I really don’t like that word considering the connotations of it.
There are two sides to every story. Some of the people in this thread are pretty quick at taking this murderous scumbag at his word.
Good point, maybe we shouldn’t take the LAPD police department at their word.

Nope. You gather as much information from as many sources as possible and you look for consistencies in the stories.

However, I do tend to trust a law enforcement agency over a deranged psycho.

Total smear campaign.

You know what, I bet he never did anything wrong while he was with the LAPD. It’s all because they hate minorities right? That’s why they fired him. It was his evil white captain who wanted his badge… Oh wait, the captain was Asian? Well that’s ok, that’s kinda white right?

I bet he didn’t actually shoot those three cops that had nothing to do with his situation did he? The media just made it up to smear his character. They were cops though so I’m sure they had it coming since all cops are corrupt… All except Donner… He was a saint and that’s why he was fired.

I bet he never even went to Irvine, killed that womens college basketball coach and her fiancÃ?© either! Another smear campaign by “The Man” in order to keep this guy down huh?

This guy is a saint! He should be getting awards and medals instead of being on the run.

It’s the system man, the corrupt system that’s to blame.

Call off the manhunt. Pardon Dorner. Disband the LAPD, arrest anyone in the LAPD who looked at Dorner, and appoint him as Chief of Police.

You’ve commented on Americans’ alleged obsession with guns. I want to know how it feels being that America has probably saved your country at some point, using aforementioned guns.

My real beef with your statement is that you’ve taken Americans’ “obsession” with guns out of historical context.

Imagine, for a second, that you’re country is being oppressed by a dictator. Then, imagine for a second, that the only reason you were able to stop this oppression is because you had armed citizens fight and die to defend the freedom your country deserves.

Think of the magnitude of all that and then tell me you wouldn’t have a vested interested in keeping your people armed and protecting the right (which is in our constitution) of your people to bear arms.

tl; dr

there are crazies going on shooting sprees in the US very regularly

why you try to make a link between US military strength or some other COMPLETELY FUCKING IRRELEVANT points is beyond me

people being armed to the teeth while walking around is ridiculous and unnecessary

as stated it is literally baffling to other developed civilised societies it is up there with other stone age shit like women wearing burkas in saudi arabia etc

Funny how the media hasn’t looked into any of the claims that Dorner made in his “manifesto”, almost like they’re trying to portray him in a certain light. He’s already burnt himself beyond repair, so it would be nice of the media to show the whole story, and not just one side. He can’t ever be in the right for what he’s done, but the events that took place to make him snap should be the co-headline of this event, and not just personifying him into some deranged psycho.

Sets more bad precedents. Fellow cops repeatedly call you a nigger, and you go through the proper channels, and nothing happens. No big deal, just racism, right?
Fellow cop kicks mentally ill man in the face, thus breaking the law that they’re sworn to uphold, you go through the proper channels, and end up losing your job. No big deal, just ordinary conflict-of-interest sentencing.
Previous job loss affects current occupation so that you can’t perform those duties anymore, no big deal, it’s just your career and reputation.

You guys must really be into turning the other cheek every time someone fucks you over, derailing everything that you’ve worked long and hard towards, right? No big deal.
