That’s one point I always have to remember whenever people start the whole “Lance doped; there’s no way he could have won seven in a row without drugs; he got out when he did because he knew he was going to get busted; blah, blah, blah, blah, blah…”.
Look, bottom line, the guy is a friggin’ mutant. His resting HR, VO2 max, and all other manner of physical markers are off the charts, drugs or no drugs. The jealousy of some of these people who just simply weren’t born with hs natural ability is outrageous.
It was comic relief and although he danced to the right music, I got the feeling he wasnt that serious half the time.
At one point Leno asked him if he would spent all his money trying to prove his innocence and his reply was something to the extent that he would not but it is something his lawyers are looking into. He was basically saying that for right now he would fight it but if he did not think it would really do anything, he would just give up and accept it.
Now you can look at that as smart business minded or in my opinion, an admission of guilt. It is hard to explain the interview back from what I remember but that is the feeling I took away from it.
I think the explanation he is clinging onto more and more is a conspiracy theory type of deal. People are out to get him is really the only reason he can think of other than all the other possible explanations already given.

lance’s vision, work ethic and determination are also off the charts. groundbreaking. he’s the complete package for the tour.
i figure lance was a mix of drugs and no drugs. it’d be pretty unbelievable to me if lance never used in his career. i do find it believeable though that he didn’t use during later tours because he was so well prepared. lance is really the first, and so far only, cyclist whose ever had the luxury to focus all of his training on the tdf. that counts for ALOT.
I thought Indurain skipped the Giro and Vuelta to only concentrate on the tour a few years.

oh man and you and me agreed on just about everything until now !
i was a kid when i “hated” him. i actually had a bianchi AND a long sleeve mercatone uno jersey back then so everyone used to call me pantani. i think that’s why i started hating on him. looking back on his career now i love the guy. pretty sad how he died.

Haha… thats pretty funny…
Guess what my road bike is. A beautiful Celeste green Bianchi. Yep, the same color as your beloved jersey.
Yeah the way he died was quite sad. The dude had one crazy career that is for certain.
Short Hijack here;
I got tickets for Hank III for September 30th and the very following day guess who I am seeing again. You guessed it Hank III, he is playing a private party for a wedding bash and I am fortunate enough to have been invited.

Totally agree. Is he racing again next year? I heard there was some talk of retirement.

And just a bit off thread…anyone else feel big respect for Axel Merckx’s efforts for Landis during this Tour?
He impressed my tits off…

I certainly hope he’s not retiring!Pity he lived in his dad’s shadow,Eddie made some seriously harsh comments about his chances of ever amounting to much on the tour, which I always hoped Axel would disprove.
Must have sucked being The Cannibal’s son and going into the same profession hehehe…

The show was last night. I highly suggest you dont miss the Boston show. They played for over 2.5 hours with one 5 minute break after the Hellbilly set was done just to get to get set up for Assjack. This show was unfucking believable. It was pure energy right form the start which was “straight to hell” and that was when the mosh pits started. Hank sounded great, the whole Damn band was amazing. Good news is I am going to see them tonight at a Private party…!!! Here is a pic I took with my phone. I’ll get better ones tonight.
