Lagging Hypertrophy

See I’ve always felt I’ve had decent physique genetics but pretty Much poverty genetics and when it comes to strength. Aaron Curtis is a supposed natural bodybuilder who has insane Quads but squats something like 330 for 10 or so

Oh really? Sorry but with claims like that I don’t just take somebody’s word for it. Of course, I assume we are talking about a legit 600 raw squat (which is fucking badass btw) and not some sky high abortion with knee wraps.

I also find it odd that both of you don’t have impressive quads, which makes the whole thing even less believable.

And hear I thought they were doing ok, shucks
looking good there, mate! Well done

So where is the evidence for the claim I was attacking?
If I recall correctly, the dude Jake’s talking about is a single Ply lifter.

But I mean you can just use you and Grind’s pictures as evidence for what they are talking about. You have a 500+ Squat, right? And it seems if you leaned down your Quads would be similar in comparison as Grind’s who doesn’t Squat near as much as you, I don’t believe.

I’m basing this on the older pictures you’ve posted in the past, you could be way bigger/stronger/leaner I suppose.
Wasnt the claim that you dont need to squat big weight to have big quads? or along those lines. So the proof is the pics showing good quads without a massive squat. seems like its quite well support and IS has be thwarted as per usual
Haha, you really are the new PX when it comes to reading comprehension and reasoning skills.

Anyway, I can’t be arsed to further make my case since there is nothing to be gained here. Let’s all just stick to threads about everyone’s favorite exercise tweaks or something on that level.

It would be cool if you addressed my point. I think you are significantly stronger as a Squatter than GrindOverMatter, but in older pics of you, if you were to trim a good deal of the bf, I don’t think your Quads look more developed than Grind’s, who I know during his prep didn’t go above 315 Squatting I don’t think.

Is that enough of a ‘comparison’ to kind of signify how certain techniques can produce better legs than just heavy squats? Or am I missing something?

correct, like i said, poverty genetics for strength i have.

Do you good morning the shit out of your squats? that would explain the lack of leg development. front squats/leg press would probably be your friend. Just get more bro on your accessory movements and you’ll be fine. if you want something more specific feel free to ask
Nope I don’t.
My legs r actually my best body part. I met Niel Hill and Hide Yamagishi once during a posing class and Niel said “Something about Asians and great legs…”
It’s my upper body that’s lagging.

Lol. Did you tell him some of us with really stellar genetics can fly? Contrary to popular belief, there were no wires used in the filming of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Seems like others seem to be on the same conclusion. Youre buttons are so easy to push. You just react so strong. Its too much fun.

I’m glad this thread exists so that I can save tuition and skip taking “Intro to Being an Internet Douchebag.”

Gotta love those overrides.

Yeah, but its only because he hasn’t yet purchased those super secret bf filter goggles that allow you to determine exactly how developed a person’s quads are under the layers of body-fat.

I bought mine over the internet last week and I figured out that Shane Hamman’s quads would be smaller than the OP’s if Hamman were to peel off enough bodyfat. Ditto for Brandon Lilly :stuck_out_tongue:

Anything from 1-25 reps
I usually do lower reps on the big compounds and higher reps on accessory/isolation work
I’m willing to bet that you prefer lower reps on the big movements, correct? Try doing higher reps, like 10-12, on the big lifts consistently and then look at your progress over some time. Right now you need sarcoplasmic hypertrophy meaning you want the fluid part of your muscles to swell and thus create larger muscle cells. I’m thinking if you’re having trouble putting on size then your training must be more focused on myofibrillar hypertrophy, meaning you’ve created more muscle cells but you haven’t made your current ones larger. Hope that makes sense…
