Respectfully, this just shows you are not at all knowledgeable about law enforcement procedure and what works/doesnt work/gets officers or their partners seriously injured or killed in the real world.
There are many threads in the combat forum from experienced vets that will explain how clueless your line of thinking is.
Is it not possible he was just a bad person who wanted an excuse to shoot someone?.
Kyle Rittenhouse is not a hero.
I find his actions morally repugnant, but at the same time it’s complicated. Whether he receives criminal sentencing is up to the judge and jury, I’d arguably support either outcome.
I’d ask… What was a seventeen year old armed to the teeth doing in this environment? I can guarantee you this guy isn’t a hero. Chances are he had morbid, sadistic curiosity and wanted an excuse to shoot someone without consequences.
This is a weak argument. Appealing to authority on the basis of age in effort to shut down people you don’t like only tends to deepen the divide between youth/adults, and this is not a divide we want in our society.
Do I like the way OP is talking to you? Not in the slightest… The “you are no marine” comment irritated me in particular. However his opinion isn’t irrelevant on the basis of his age (whatever it is) alone.
There is no arbitrary age restriction enabling one to be prevalent on these forums. This entire forum isn’t confined to the pharma section.
Appeals to authority on the basis of life experience and education are somewhat more credible in therms of validity within a debate, however even then there’s a line to be drawn as many doctors, experts in various fields tend to develop a god complex associated with a high degree of arrogance. It’s the dunning kruger effect, albeit both those who know absolutely nothing and those who know absolutely everything tend to be extremely irritating to deal with.
Many teenagers lack life experience, though there are exceptions to this rule hence why the appeal to authority on the basis of age isn’t always valid. Talking down to those you’re in disagreements also tends to cause the individual you are arguing with to shut off.
Now that you’ve both flung insults at one another, civil discourse with the end goal of finding common middle ground will be almost impossible. The goal in a debate in this case should be to convince your opponent to think about your world view, not alienate your opponent and deepen the sociopolitical divide.
@Andrewgen_Receptors Hey man I apologize for the way I acted yesterday, I was feeling very irritable yesterday due to stress. Happy Veterans Day to you.
To make sense of all the nonsense I said since I was 50% trolling and 50% serious, I just don’t agree with how some people idolize military and law enforcement. I’m not saying they shouldn’t get respect but they are human and doing their job just like anyone else. I’m sure there are military personnel out there that don’t give a crap about their country and just want the benefits. I personally wouldn’t consider that heroic.
the events occured within TWO different locations… Why not just go the fuck home after you’ve seen the surrounding environment is so dangerous you’ve had to shoot someone?
One testimony accounts something along the lines of "Rittenhouse fired shots into the air, an unarmed man tried to seize the rifle Rittenhouse was illegally in possession of and firing in public… Rittenhouse shot the man dead.
So my belief is, the man (young man) was probably part of the alt right (or feasibly part of any left wing extremist organisation had he been in the “antifa” crowd, but he wasn’t). He wanted to shoot people he didn’t like, so he went out looking for a fight and shot those who dared confront him.
From my books, he’s a piece of shit… But he isn’t guilty of homicide.
This is a young adult who illegally procured an assault rifle, ran towards danger and killed people in ‘self defence’. Rittenhouse wasn’t a cop, what the fuck was he doing there with an assault rifle. The entire situation was avoidable.
What kind of timespan do you think we’re looking at for the occurrence of those events? What do you think he was trying to do after shooting the mentally ill child molester?
I think we’re talking about Big Loser 2 here. If you try to take someone’s weapon, it is likely that weapon will be used to prevent that. That’s how one defends oneself.
How can you justify the fact he illegally procured the weapons, crossed state lines with it and walked right onto the scene of a riot… Illegally armed
What was his intention? Why was he there? Why did he illegally procured an assault rifle and conveniently take it across state lines to the scene of a riot.
Rittenhouse was shooting in the air. He was firing shots, he wasn’t some absolute Saint who some guy ran at indiscriminately, resulting in shots fired
I’m sure Rittenhouse knew the guy was a child molester during the altercation
That argument has no substance. If I square up with someone on the street and they push back, but the guy i’m confronting has a criminal record for violent crime (that I don’t know about) am I suddenly in the right to pull out a gun and shoot him dead?
The man was a child rapist, I’m not fussed about the death. But using it as moral justification for Rittenhouse is absurd. How would he have known at the time?
I don’t think that would pass in court “but he had a criminal record that I didn’t know about at the time”.
If you follow the actual evidence and testimony in court you would know that his father, grandmother, aunt, uncle and a cousin live in Kenosha. -It has been debunked that he is " an outsider looking for trouble"
He did not cross the line with the gun. It is a fake news. He was in Kenosha after work. He works there and used to live there. His father lives there. SO HE DID NOT CROSS THE STATE. HE BASICALLY LIVES THERE. He obtained the weapon there. The only one crossing the state with illegal weapons were the rioters. Stop projecting rioters faults into Kyle Rittenhouse.
Second. He as proven by his behaviour was there to provide medical assistance and deal with fires. There is a long footage of him doing exactly that. He did not shoot on air.
As previously suggested - stop reading fake news. Watch the trial or get into more reliable sources. Everything you try to project is from fake sources. The prosecutor tried to do the same thing you are trying to do and the judge told him to stop projecting stuff and was about to kick him out of court.
The boy is not a piece of shit. It is brave of him to be out there risking his life to deal with entitled degenerates, something the government and its institutions were not able to do. While democrats and the current president of the United States and Vice President as well were pushing for, while the degenerated press was also cheering for.
Rosenbaum was screaming that he was going to kill him and was previously walking around in a demented fashion carrying a chain and had an object in his hand(now known to just be a bag) when he charged Rittenhouse
I couldn’t care less about whatever law he may or may not have broken by obtaining or carrying the rifle(as long as he didn’t steal it). That’s not a moral issue. He was obviously capable of using the weapon effectively.
Did he not answer those questions yesterday? If I had been there, I would have wanted to be carrying a rifle.
