Kroc 14.5 Weeks Out

Kroc’s chest isn’t even that bad, bigger than most around here, and better than the 50 year old Ken’s chest; not taking anything away front Ken, I hope I can look that good at 50. He probably never worked inclines much until recently. Plus, it will blow up once he starts focusing on it.

Awesome:

Indeed, wouldn’t mind looking like that at 50…

Matt has, I believe, some severe elbow tendonitis, hence the severely lagging triceps. Someone tell him about PJR’s (or not, with his intensity he’d probably tear a long head on them lol) and IH presses

He has managed to bring his arms up quite a bit despite his often so-so (because of prior injuries etc I guess) exercise selection.

Anybody familiar with the other competitors/the show?

You think some volume training would help reduce pain and balance him out?

You can’t take anything away from him, but I’m surprised his tris lag in comparison with all of the shirted benching he’s done. I would expesct them to be a strong point. He’s gonna have fucking HUGE, deep abs once he’s near contest shape. I’m really interested to see how dense he looks come contest time. I’m also surprised he’s 38. For some reason I thought he was younger. Bet his back will also standout. Once he’s dried out and pro-tanned he’s gonna look insane.

?

What does this have to do with anything? Most males are losing their hair before the age of 30-35.

HE’S 38.[/quote]

Only reason I brought it up was that all the previous recent (or I thought) pictures and videos of matt I never noticed the balding starting on top. I also was under the impression Matt was around 30-33 not quite as old as 38. I could care less if he uses drugs or not. The man is impressive as hell either way, and he is 1 of my favorite bber’s/strength athletes to follow and draw motivation from.

Knowing now his age it’s not suprising he is balding considering I have friends (I’m 25 now) that started balding in highschool and not anyway related to drug use. It’s just a shitty draw on genetics from your Mother’s Father. I am already getting grey hairs in my mid twenties which sucks as well. Didn’t mean for the comment to sound like I was knocking Matt at all.

I love me some PJRs, the most pain free tricep exercise for my junk elbows.

Kroc lost a testicle to cancer and has went on to become one of the most dominant athletes in the sport. I expect the progress photos in the coming weeks to be completely terrifying.

Hey IronAbrams what are PJRs?

It’s a pullover variant, easisest to explain it with a video I think:

FWIW, set up with retracted shoulder blades, pullover+extension, stop with upper arms at an incline (compared to vertical as in the vid) etc…

Was wondering before this post if it’s not turned into a half ‘lat’ exercise by bringing the arms over?

No. Retracted scapulae + pullover motion (your shoulder joints don’t rise or anything, they stay in the same place essentially) should let the long head of your tris do most of the work… Of course you still get some lat involvement, but it’s no big deal. If you don’t keep your shoulders in place etc (let them rise and then pull them down) chances are your lats will take over.

Just try them out… You can do them with an EZ bar and a narrow grip there too. But try the DB version first for 12 good reps at working weight or so… And 2 days later try to straighten your arms behind your back without wincing…

(note: your lats should sort of stay contracted to keep the shoulder joints in place together with the muscles retracting the shoulder blades)

Bit hard to explain via text…
You’ll know you did it right when the doms is killing you… And that’s one exercise that causes an awful lot of DOMS when done correctly (even for me, someone who practically never gets sore).

Are IH Presses Incline Hammer Presses? As in Incline DB Presses with a neutral grip? Or is this referring to the Hammer Strength Incline Press?

IH = In-Human, one of those DC guys . C_C can explain it, and it’s best to hear it from him rather than me.

Thanks, found it.

To be sure:

C_C wrote:
In the smith, PL setup (arch, shoulderblades retracted/together, shoulders shrugged back together an and drive traps/delts into the bench with some help of your legs, get tight), place bench(if you can move it) so that you can slide your ass over the edge of the bench… Or don’t and just use standard pl setup… Anyway, use an armpit-width (or wider if necessary for your wrists) suicide/false/thumbless-grip on the bar, bring it down to just below or even above nipple level, depens. Elbows flared on this one (usually).
When pressing, also try to press towards your feet against the smith as well as up to take the shoulders out and engage the tris a lot more.

I wouldn’t mind looking like that at any age.

Matt Kroc is the man! Cannot wait to see him in contest shape! I’m sure he will look ridiculously dense, thick and grainy. Best of luck MK.
