I was just thinking about that this afternoon. I was getting out of my car at wal-mart and had my knife & sheath in hand to put in my pocket. But the guy getting out of his car diagonally was looking at me like he might be witness to a mass murder. Black dude with a round head doing that big eyes thing. Funny as fuck, but it did get me thinking about knife carrying laws in PA, and the fact that I have no idea if there are any.
Thats about it. No auto-knives. Glad I looked though. Legality of things was never much of an issue for me, but I’ve been trying to do things a bit more legally now.
Knife laws are about as ridiculous as “Gun Free Zones.”
In Colorado, it’s illegal to conceal a knife with a blade longer than 3.5 inches. Autos are legal but can be restricted by city ordinances in places like Denver which is why there’s absolutely no crime in Denver…
Funny, I legally carry a gun in Colorado but my usual pocket knife breaks the law by about a half-inch.
CIVIVI Elementum Utility – I love this thing. Let’s be honest, we do battle with boxes most of the time, not bad guys.
This one is unique in that you get use of the full blade. Most of the time with utility knives, you go only get the tip. I also kinda like just switching blades instead of worrying about sharpening. Aluminum handle, so it’s light, front flipper and thumb stud opening, button lock - makes it very fidget-friendly. Under 40 bucks, lots of handle color options.
I have about half of those on the list. The Shadow Systems is a little large for an EDC. I prefer the sig P365… just fits my hand well and is super small by comparison. I also have a hellcat but I like the sig better for an equal sized gun.
Shadow > Sig > LCP by comparison. And half a foot for your viewing pleasure.
Maine finally cleaned up the silly blade length and concealment aspects of its knife laws. There was a time not long ago when you could theoretically openly carry six handguns, four more concealed, plus a rifle and shotgun slung across your back, but would run afoul of the law if you were concealing a knife longer than 3.5 inches.
