Knees Hurt More When I Don't Squat

GVT is German Volume Training.

I have absolutely no professional experience, but from what I’ve read, it would seem like rolling your ankles would be caused by them being weak in which case the high tops would actually be worse by ignoring the problem instead of fixing it. I would imagine working on ankle strength by running/lifting barefoot (if possible) would be better… or am I way off base?

Along with isometric contractions, and rolling (like foam rolling) with a tennis ball to improve proprioceptive feedback of your feet. Doing these things have helped me rehab really well from a bad ankle sprain from rolling my ankle. And I continue to do these things to prevent it from happening again. Hasn’t happened since, even when I run in my damn pumas.

The thing that helps for me is pacing. I have two jobs that require me to stand for hours on end and thats the worst for aggrevating it.
I also am leery about seeing a specialist about it because you know the first piece of advice will be, rest, dont squat. And then I either feel bad about not listening or descend into hell.[/quote]

sitting with bent legs for long periods of time -like in a car- makes it 10 times worse for me.

I was doing one quarter squats for a couple weeks in January because of a hip injury and my knees took it terribly.

I don’t know if it’s similar but when I take a rest day everything hurts and if I don’t do some kind of presses every couple of days I get huge painful knots in my traps.

If the issue is decreased pressure do to less fluid, wouldn’t wearing one of those stretchy knee sleeve braces help?
