Your son looks like a happy big boy. Great work dad.
Can’t remember when I saw someone enjoy something so much.
Man that was a fast year, he looks like he’s going to be a real bruiser! Thanks for the vid

x2 Great vid and great looking kid. Heck, in 18 months he will be as tall as you…lol.
Great work, Kevin, in the gym and at home!
Thank you People, Im; glad to share Rowan is a happy happy baby.
Thank you Carl, Steve, Skip, and cavilier.
And Masch OH squats - don’t mean much - they are just how I trouble shoot and see where I am at.
training yes training.
2.25.11
lower
mobility skips, jumps hops crawls, felt good.
no OH squats shoulders not so solid.
Hanging leg raise feet to bar- 2x10 **
A deadlift conventional 135x5,225 2x5, 315x5, 405x3,
445x1 PR so I shut it down wanted 450 no 2.5 WFT
B front sq. reverse lunges 135 4x8
C1 NGHR 3x10
C2 BB rollout 3x10
Notes.
adding hanging leg raises back to the top of the workout-
so good. really helps my low back wake up.
and 2 sets isnt enough to kill the grip.
Deads- 445 I wanted 450 no 2.5 plates. felt good, after the 405 triple
so I plated up this is a PR I think I pulled 445 at the end of a good training run last
year in fall.
Reverse lunges in front squat position these are great
need to keep up with the unilateral work
ghetto glute ham raise - these just dont get easy
BB roll outs suck ass.
thanks for looking
you just pulled a PR deadlift? coming back from all the neck/shoulder/back stuff?
you are my hero! nice job!
Nice DL! 445 is good stuff!
Interesting about the OH Squats. Lol! Makes sense.
great pulling. shoulder feeling better yet?
I can’t believe its only been a year. And Rowan is a little beast. Tighthead Prop is where he needs to play with those legs.
thanks people it was an OK pull-
I want to pull 500 this year.
George- your my hero for keeping at it, thank you!!
Maschy- thanks!!
Thanks MJ!
Rugby- now your talking.
none of that american football crap
I promised no judo and No wrestling.
except someone can already do neck bridges and loves to Pummel
what is crazy if I do any stretches, calisthenics, yoga, foam rolling
and yes any type of wrestling drill
someone small does them right with me, and then tries to practice on the dog.
bought a 25lb kettle bell a week ago, have not used one in years
one of the Russian Judo gyms in Brooklyn had a bunch and I used them a little then
was watching little man all day so I broke out the kettle bell
a bunch of swings like 4x20
a bunch of one arm swings like 40 total
some other kettle queer crap
some 1 arm snatches
its actually kind of fun.
I can see these can be a useful
conditioning toy.
thanks for reading
That’s so cool to have your little guy follow along and try to wrestle the dog!
Thanks Soldog-
he is just alot of fun
training 3.1.11
lower
pvc and some mobility at home
jumprope, mobility , ankles , hips,
a bunch of skippping hopping etc
bb warm up
RDL full clean power snatch x3 bar x3, 65x3 95x3
OH squat 65 2x10 needs work.
Front Squat 65x10,95x10,135x5,185x5,225x5 245x3 265 2x2 then 205 4x6
trap bar Jump squat 135 4x6
BB rollouts 3x10
Notes
something was up with my right hamstring could not get it warm
thus the little first two sets seemed to work
OH squats- something is still up with shoulder stability-
I’m thinking its what ever is ‘fixed’ with my neck
isnt there yet
first double at 265 felt good I should have went for triples or another set of doubles.
jumps- always fun.
wanted some single leg work and sprints ran out of time.
the ipod shuffle that went throught the laundry and dryer ,
amazingly still works but seems to be dying
so I was stuck squatting to peter frampton
all of that stuff is awesome except for the peter frampton part.
[quote]mjnewland wrote:

HAHAH! Agreed.
Trap bar jump squats look cool! Do you think these might be too aggressive to rotate into my training while i’m in-season?
thanks people.
MJ-
squatting to peter frampton was a bit of a downer…
maschy try them with dumbells first see if you like them
you can ask the guys at LBH too.
making some very Bad TV this week but it pays bills.
some random kettle queer stuff yesterday and today-
probably all the training I can manage- with work.
guess its a deload.
still curious about your FB posts regarding the handlebar…
Pete-
I have been in my industry for 20 years no big thing.
when I work a gig and know only a few people its weird.
I got asked to ‘help’ a reality show reunion
which means the producer needs someone with some chops to make sure shit gets done.
the client who hired me - paired me up with this young desinger- who was a nice guy.
was like a late 20’s kid- very capable, very nice but rocked a handlebar mustache…
and crazy outfit to match.
if your a biker its cool if your a hipster - I just cant take dude seriously.
anyway made some bad tv did a 50 hour work week in 3 days-
forced deload.
sick.
ugh.
worked an 18 hour day fri came home to sick baby with a stomach virus
he is fine now
wife got it sat, she is fine now.
I got it now.
yay
I know kid germs are nasty but I’m willing to bet it was the squatting to Frampton that got you.
Rest up.
ahh, I see handle bar hipsters everytime I go out to a bar these days, which is about twice a year.
squatting to Frampton is no good.
Yeah, bummer about the virus, but I agree, it must have been the Frampton.
By the way, what exactly do you do - are you a director? Just curious, 'cause I used to work in film & video myself. Post production, graphics and effects.
