KM'c Black Irish Bastid 3.0

How are these pulls affecting your judo? Seems like you ought to be pulling guys right off the mat, no kuzushi needed.

X2 on the air humps, they look crazy but are awesome. Been doing them lately, total love/hate thing.

Thanks for all the love people…

Alexus the grass is always greener on the other side- I have made television or work on some kind technical role in the entertainment business for my entire adult life. Sometimes I do forget its different.

as for air humps - they work so they stay.

Joe if its one plate I lean it against something very close to where I am about to do pushups.

I get on all fours, pull the plate on my back and then get into a pushup position
if its more then 45 - it gets tricky I have done 70 and 90 45+25 or 2x45’s
you need to lay on the floor and slide them both on to your back hips etc- its kind of hard

one more reason to get a training partner.

Elikias- sadly there is no more Judo.
I feel tearful writing that.
My neck can no longer hang with Judo Greco- or BJJ

Ddday- its true they are a bit uncomfortable I might try putting the bar up on like 10 lb plates or something

Farmer Brett- I forgot to say I first saw Tate write about reversing your grip
on OH press- to hit the delts harder.

Joe Defranco - had them in one of his programs- built like a bad ass for washed up meat heads
curl to press- with bars and Db-s
I used the ez curl bar because it was lying right next to me.

training-
none to speak of

this morning-
5x
25 kb swings
25 pushups
25 BW squats.

not much but something.

Iron chef is kicking my ass- back in at 6 am
but shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
we are taping.

will catch up on all you people soon

however- if I were playing I think I would have some decent strength-
my grip has always been good - for judo.

Yeah baby! Totally love the trap bar jumps (of course I would) - looks killer!

Feet to face hanging leg raises is no joke! Nice.

Excellent training all around, Kev!

I feel all warm and fuzzy knowing that all the shows I watch are filmed by you - I thank you for filling my nights with endless entertainment

X2! Thanks for providing me with the endless brainless TV that I love so much!

maschy- thanks girl- HLR fix my crap

and Matty-

I am glad that the ‘work’ is appreciated if you think its brainless watching it making it is tearful

iron chef is probably the largest show food network does its like fitting a ten pound shit in a 2 pound bag.

Do you at least get to eat some of the stuff they cook up? That might a day on set worth it.

Food network - is smart

none of the food prepared on the shows is available til after its wrapped
or done being shot.
it sets a bad precedent to eat the product its not considered professional behavior at work

Maybe then if people put it out- you can eat it.

The stuff for regular cooking shows with one host- or chef usually falls into this category.
shows like iron chef- that never happens its too complicated a show-
the food is judged tasted , shot for what we call beauties etc its a big proces

LOL…dude I love the times where I can just sit and veg out in front of my TV and watch the trainwrecks you provide!

Matty glad I can help.

I have worked on some of the finest shows evah

And sorry for stirring the pot so much in your thread about the Broz training.
I think its a little nuts but not impossible.

feeling like ass today- 3 long days of an Ironchef load in kicked my ass.
this is about as much gear a large concert.

What exactly do you do on Ironchef? D.P.? Grip? Sound record?

Bro you kidding me? I love whats goin on in my log, Like I said I would love to hear stories from you about your training adventures sounds awesome!

I wish I had a trap bar in my gym, maybe time to move on from my gym

Cav I am an electrician.

I did three days of load in- out of a seven or eight day load in which is kind of huge.
then I come back for 3 or 4 days of show days- I was supposed to do the entire run
of like 30 or so work days but ‘budget cuts’ and some other politics

usually I am the gaffer- I DP too but I dowt shoot - although I probably should start doing that.
We call that position the LD - lighting director. which is what I do most of the time.

electrician gafer and ligting director depending on the client.
but I have an extensive video vocabulary and always work with the engineer and edit ro
make it right.

Matty- trap bar is like a deload that you can go heavy on and not get crushed…

my training adventures-

i sucked
got into a bullshit 2 year D3 school
did a million clinics
lost to everyone

turned it around and started kicking ass but had to cut 12lbs 2x a week
to wrestle at 118.5

won a greco tournament

started again- 2nd year of school- at 125 and 118.5 some more greco tournaments
joined a great greco club- got invited by the superstar kid I rouched up
the last season to be a training partner for the 92 olympics
but preface this that I had been out there for a week of training for a clinic I paid to go to.
and my coach was a big catalyst of that.

took like a 5 day greyhound bus out there
spent a month getting the crap knocked out of me

and eventually got a gig at a D1 school-
but still had to cut to 120 ish.

all this and I lost all the time
they never wanted me to start cuz i sucked…

the trip to the OTC got me into a D1 school with some help
for cash- but also had me spend a 5th semester at a two year school
lame.

that coach and my first coach where tight as tight
and knew each other from worlds

the second coach - was my size- about 140 so that is who I trained with directly allot

I ended up with something like 89 wins and something like 120 something losses

I always lost when it counted, and surprised a few people who should have crushed me.

it took a while to get into that school
I had to do allot of exhibitions where you go and train for a day or so at
another college
did that at michigan state- a bullshit D1 school in iowa
at Cornell - but I would never ever have been able to go to cornell
i iz a dumbazz

i never finished school
had to give up wrestling in what would have been my third year or 4th year in college
do to racking up way way too many injuries concussions
broken ankle broken collar bone torn AC joint Torn meniscus
a rib here and there
but really it was my neck and concussions that did it.

I left school and competed for a Gerco Roman club
two of them for another year then gave it up

or did you mean the fun stuff
like being driven 10 miles of campus in a a 16 passenger van in like 12degree weather pretty much every day
and being kicked out and told to run back

or later riding an exercise bike in full silver plastic suit sweats and a down in that same van -
on the way to a wrestling match.
can I tell you the kids who where standing - so you could make weight where piseed

or later training for ‘big time stuff’ and training at fucked up times in the middle of the night
to acclimatize the kid your training with to competing in a dif timezone?

or dragging weights onto the track at the OTC and doing a set of cleans or snatches or front squats and then
sprinting 400m between sets

or that I did not shave til like 22 - no hair. you do the math there
that kind of stuffs?
I cried allot.

  1. Extremely adequate training going on here.
  2. Great vids.
  3. Guess like anything you get use to your job and it becomes routine but compared to walking 5 miles a day in the weather your’s sounds interesting and fun as hell. Ah, for the glamour of the big city lights.
  4. Thanks for sharing the life’s journey story. I remember the lighter weights trying to make weight back in high school. Read somewhere how so many coaches fuck up kids by trying to get them to stay at a weight while their bodies are trying to grow.
  5. BTW, OTC colorado springs was the old Ent AFB. Competed there against a bunch of commies while they were still putting it together in 1978. I got destroyed.

hmm.

i guess it is much more fun training for fun. even if you take it seriously.

i’m getting a hankering for some trap bar deadlifts…

I just found out how much they are myself!

Crazy story there Kev! Lots of interesting stuff. Lol @ “I cried a lot”! You silly.

Hel-

thank you I am finding a decent training groove it seems thank you.

everyone Else’s work is always interesting , Im glad I do what I do,
I still like it.

I was def in that category of cutting too much weight, Its like being a female gymnast
you never grow or go through puberty properly

I think I knew it was once a base of some kind

what happened to 5?

Alexus- training is always fun, for all that sounded bad sports got me through the bulk of college
and taught me some valuable

lessons about working for what you want
and to always believe in the possible

Maschy- I did cry all the time- I needed tiny soccer players and fiel hockey women to console me

Gigitty!

Your win loss record sounds like mine in Junior high lol! I was a small, chubby kinda dirty kid with a big mouth, which led to plenty o ass kickings, some surprising victories but plenty of defeats. Ironically enough once I hit sophmore year in HS all of the douchebaggedness vanished and I became the opposite and at times painfully quiet but at the same time really friendly (if that makes sense)

Serious question, would you do it all over again, all the agony and struggle, did it provide you with a sense of what your made of wherein you wouldnt change a thing?

dday lol

but it was true I did cry out of frustration-

I needed the solace of other jocks- who where cute.
and listened to sad music and needed a project boyfriend

Matty- I don’t know that’s allot to chew-
do away with the injuries and some of the BS maybe.
I think the whole thing with wrestling is the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.
all the good lessons come from the bad shit I think.

its Some kind of holiday in Canada- so happy Canada day!
