I think he represents every aspect of real bodybuilding. I saw one video where some foreigners saw him in a parking lot and they saw how huge he was. Yet I don’t think they knew that he was actually a pro bodybuilder.
Kevin took the time to take off his shirt do some poses, take pictures and shake hands with them all and joke around. I think after that day those guys made Kevin their favorite.

Yeah and that was two weeks out from competition I have the DVD.
Absolutely one of the strongest bodybuilders ever and deffinately should have been Mr.Olympia at least once. The IFBB really fucked him over, I’m not being bias because he is my favorite bodybuilder or anything lol, but seriously Levrone is the man.
I’m always hereing rumors about his comeback and would love to see that. Being that he is one of the few BBers that diet up to a comp he could probably be stage ready in less than a year. His muscle memory was fucking unreal.
His Physique would fit in really well with today’s guys like heath (who has literally the same strong/weak areas/frame but imo doesn’t quite have the same crazy lines?)…
He just competed during the wrong era, I’m almost sure that he could get himself a Sandow nowadays…

cc,what do you think about that whole not training for like half the year thing. Do you think him training up to the olympia was because he thought it worked best for him and was that kind of pulling a paul dillet haha

He stated many times that he did it for his health because he feared dying like his parents did…both of cancer I believe. He would hit it hard for a few months and then back off. I guess it worked. He’s still breathing and healthy.
He also had a band he was trying to get up and running so that took most of his focus during the year.
He just had other interests. Painting him as a half asser would be a mistake. He managed to be one of the best without putting 100% focus into it and while pursuing other goals. Looking back, he did it the right way.

Never had the chance to ask him, so I don’t know
He did a lot of touring with his band and other stuff though throughout the year…
He did originally get big like everyone else and then just relied on muscle-memory to get back into that shape (and add a few extra lbs every time I think), so I bet he could have been bigger by training year round.
Kiyoshi Moody has a similar story, doesn’t he? Diets up to contest shape instead of down, stays smaller in the off-season due to playing football or whatever (not a linebacker I guess). Not sure if it was football either, but you get the point.
Btw, is Kiyoshi still around? He used to post here at times…
As for Levrone pulling a Dillet… Don’t think so, he was probably really just busy with other stuff in the off-season… Or maybe he did it for the “shock” value/to prove something to himself/impress others… Like his attempt at racing the worlds fastest/second fastest man etc.

He lost by over a second. In sprinting, that’s called getting destroyed.
yea but this wasnt an olympic race
…and Kevin was fucking huge. I am not sure why anyone wouldn’t give him some credit just for running that damn fast after not having trained for it and while carrying that much size.
I doubt most here would be able to run that fast at that body weight or with that much muscle on them.

He ran a time that some girls in highschool have beaten.
This is after claiming he was the fastest man on the planet - with a supposed 4.1 second 40 - and challenging Maurice Greene to a race.
Give him credit for what, exactly? Saying shit he can’t back up?

You’ll have to excuse me…I don’t have that much emotion or care tied up in this so any claims he made sound like nothing to me but trash talk…which I am sure it was.

You apparently see more to it than that.
I see a man claiming he was the best at something in the world and then being soundly shown that he wasn’t even in the same last meters.
What else is there to it except people making excuses and attempting to polish the mediocre turd that was his performance?
Don’t mistake me for being emotionally invested in this, either… that’s the exact reason why I can call his sprint what it really was without feeling the need to sugarcoat it.

Yeah, because “sugarcoating” is what I’m known best for. For someone who doesn’t care at all…you sure do care a lot.
I also have that video in my favourites. Just Awesome.
Levrone was made for bodybuilding, and I just think his physique is incredible. He is an awesome individual too who really puts himself into every area of his life. People could learn alot from him.
