4.4 is a conservative time. I got between 4.29 and 4.38 with a shitty stopwatch on my phone.
LMAO
Try it.
Bottom line, for a guy over 40 he’s fast as fuck.
You are out of your fucking mind. That was a bit over 5 seconds. That’s good for a 40+ ex-bodybuilder, but he was NOWHERE NEAR a 4.4, even hand timed.
He starts moving at 7.45

He crosses the 40 line at 7.49

49-45 = 4

4 is a number less than 5.

Sure, it could be bullshit, but considering he has one in a million genetics I think its entirely plausible
You need to do your math again. He clearly crosses the line after 7.50. He has one in a million genetics to build muscle and is a former heavy steroid user. He’s been building muscle he once had. The guy should’ve won several Olympias and comes across as a likeable dude, but to argue that he’s as fast as most pro running backs is fucking retarded.
Why? Because everyone who could possibly play pro football or be as fast as them is already playing pro football?
There are plenty of non-football players who can run a 4.4. A few guys from my high school did it, too. That doesn’t make you a good running back.
Levrone is an amazing athlete.
And check your math again. He starts on the tail end of 45 and crosses the 40 yard line at the transition from 49 to 50. You’re looking at the wrong yard line.
The other posters addressed how wrong you are, I’m just quoting you to emphasize how ridiculous your post is.
You can quote me all you want and I’m still right. Especially in response to you. No one said he ran a laser-timed 4.4. Who the fuck has a laser? Multiple people who aren’t him have come up with 4.4 using a stopwatch.
Your idea that he can’t be that fast because he’s not a pro running back is flat out dumb. Not every person who is really fast plays football. Or even runs track.
Where the fuck did I say anyone that fast has to play football or run track? I have run an electronic 4.5 and I don’t play football or run track. And 90+% of these dudes that have run 4.4 on a stopwatch are closer to a 5 also. You have no fucking idea of what you’re talking about and you’re looking dumber and dumber with each subsequent post.
You said there’s no way he’s as fast as most pro football players in a discussion about whether or not he ran a 4.4. This insinuates that only pro football players run 4.4’s. Check your words. If you run an electronic 4.5, then it certainly isn’t unreasonable at all that he runs a hand timed 4.4. Now it went from “there’s so much variance in hand times” to “most are 5’s” which is it? Those are pretty different.

Dude, your reading comprehension is fucking awful. I never said “there’s so much variance in hand times.” That was someone else. I also said to think he’s as fast as your average running back is pretty fucking dumb. I’m naturally pretty fast. I can also dunk a basketball with ease at 5’9". But, I’m 180lbs and 28 and have played basketball with and against several NBA players. Levrone is an ex bodybuilder who’s in his 40’s.

And, like the other poster pointed out it’s camera tricks. It IS unreasonable that he runs a hand timed 4.4. That motherfucker isn’t running anywhere near a 4.4, be it hand timed, on the gun, in fast forward, by shaving time, etc… You don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about and you’re looking really silly by keeping going.

Just to comment on this ridiculous argument, you guys are all wrong. First of all, a 4.4 alone isn’t that impressive. While it is fast, many high schoolers can do it… but they do it while weighing all of 160-180. NFL running backs are that fast but weigh 50 lbs more which is why they are elite. What is Levrone there, 230ish?

That’s pretty impressive… in fact a 4.4 at 230 is a freak of nature even compared to many NFL athletes. Did he really run one? I don’t know, but it’s plausible. He looks pretty quick on the straightaways (his agility is another story however). He was already extremely strong and pretty quick, and he just spent 4 months focusing on flexibility, technique, and speed.

And btw, electronic timing is generally 0.1s slower than hand timing, but is accurate to the nearest hundredth of a second. Hand timing is accurate to the nearest tenth. The combine uses a combination of hand timing and pressure plates for the start.

EDIT: I actually just watched the video again very critically, and I am very sure he didn’t run anywhere close to a 4.4. First, I’m pretty sure he starts on the 5 and finishes at the 40. Second, he didn’t look very smooth at all, which is a huge. He was nearly stutter stepping at the end. Third, he was taking 2 steps every 5 yards even when he should have been close to top speed. Someone that could run a 4.4 would have a much longer stride. Last, I tried to hand time it and got much closer to 5 seconds.

this notion was already addressed. MOST of these highschool kids who run 4.4’s are not running legit 4.4’s… Coaches are trying to get their kids scholarships so they arent being very objective with their 40 times.

anyway,
No one is saying that Levrons is slow. Did he run a legit 4.4 40 while being 40+ years old? Hell no… Is he fast and a good athlete? Definitely… but thats no 4.4… its a camera trick

lol at this^^

Coming from someone who played college football… a REAL 4.4 40 yard time is pretty rare. Hand timed 40’s are way off… especially in highschool where the coaching staff isnt trying to be objective. They’re trying to help their kids get scholies.

Levrone is in great shape. He is fast… but he is not running a legit 4.4

You cant even tell what yard line he is starting on
You’re kind of getting too caught up in the specifics. No one is running a hand-timed 4.4 that is actually an 8.8. The point is, he is fucking fast, especially for a big dude.
It’s kind of like saying a bodybuilder isn’t 6 percent bodyfat because he used calipers and not DEXA. Well, the point is he is really lean.
We’d still need to see him running in full pads, considering the direction this thread took…

the football comparison is pretty accurate since he is DOING THE NFL COMBINE TESTING in this video series he is posting. Why would you do NFL testing and then get upset about him being compared to NFL athletes?

Also, you dont time a 40 in pads… thats just retarded

This.

It’s cool to see Levrone still in the MD area, I’ll be in Millersville tomorrow morning for a fire fighter orientation meeting.
