Ketogenic Diet

I need some help. This past monday I had began a low carb hihg protein and moderate good fat diet. I am trying to get a little more cut for a vacation I am going on in 2 weeks. I was taking in around 100 grams of carbs on workout days and on my off day which was wednesday I took in around 50.

Everytime I stand up I feel extremely light headed like about to pass out. I have read that this is expected on a diet low in carbs. Im curious though how does it last, and how do I stop myself from feeling like shit on it?

Ride it out and don’t quit yet, you’ve only been on it 4 days.

It took me 3-4 weeks before I stopped getting the headaches/lightheadedness, and I still get them right around every 3 hours, which I use as my reminder to eat (since I really don’t feel hungry most of the time and I know if I eat the headache will go a way), and I have been doing 0 direct carbs (only carbs I get are from green veggies, protein powder, peanut butter, almonds, eggs, ect.)

what are you hoping to accomplish in only 2-weeks?

once you are on vacation and go off the keto you are going to carb bloat like the Michelin man

do a 40-P/20-C/40-F split

fish oil will reduce your carb sensitivity and help with cravings, well fats will but make sure they are good fats

I don’t think you’ll hit ketosis going 100/50/100, etc. You’re low carbs, but in my experience, it takes a good week of 20-50g of carbs to hit ketosis. This was back when I was on Atkins though, maybe 5 or 6 years ago.

Second, take off your shirt and stand in front of the mirror. Makes your diet a lot easier for the rest of the day. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

well thank you for that helpful peice of advice next to number one. I have a question though about number 2. How much fat is okay.

When Ive been feeling low on energy Ive been eating some Natural PB but I love that shit I could eat a jar in one sitting. I also take fish oil 6 times a day and try to eat diff kinds of nuts.

like we share a brain Jeh-Fit (yes… it is my new nickname for you)

well for the past 5 weeks I wanted to start eating a little bit more and try to put on some muscle. I was basically just tired of maintaining, I felt it was kind of useless.
So anyway I started to bulk and stayed with it but I dont handle carbs well and I got pretty bloated but I loved eating 6 times a day and eating a lot.

I wanted to cut the carbs 2-3 weeks before so that I would not be as bloated as I was while on vacation and in a bathing suit most of the time.
I realize now though that I should have just stuck with it till a week before than cut the carbs cuz Im not bloated anymore and its been 4 days.

so than to answer your question what I was trying to accomplish in 2 weeks was lose the bloat and maybe a couple pounds.

well you can lose the bloat by reducing the carbs so you won’t retain as much water and then you will be losing your couple of pounds, mostly water.

Keto is great for carb resistant folks.
