ramping is a no no. just make sure you are strong enough to get the bar to lockout w/o ramping or hitching, lol. a lot of it has to do with being fast off the floor. pulling conventional, probably the best person to learn form from is Gillingham, I have seen him and the other Jackyl Gym guys pull many many times, and there form has kinda stuck with me.

Gonna see if I can find better words than mine re the difference between ramping and hitching. I almost take hitching to be a more inclusive term than ramping.
Lunch workouts I budget 1.5 hours. Commercial gym across the street from office. Gives me enough time and forces me to work harder, faster, especially on assistance day. Often like 40-50 sets in an hour floor time. More than enough time on cardio day.
Any downward motion of the bar before it reaches the final position.
Failure to stand erect.
Failure to lock the knees straight at the completion of the lift.
Supporting the bar on the thighs during the performance of the lift. ?Supporting? is
defined as a body position adopted by the lifter that could not be maintained without
the counterbalance of the weight being lifted.
Movement of the feet laterally, backward or forward that would constitute a step or stumble.
Lowering the bar before receiving the head referee?s signal.
Allowing the bar to return to the platform without maintaining control with both
hands

Per some trolling I have seen over in the PL forum, since I am muscular, wear gear, have a gut, etc etc I am some evil douche that is destroying the sport. I am completely cheating and should die, lol. This coming from a kid who admits he doesn’t lift and doesn’t compete. WTF?
I do better just staying in the compound. When I get a kitchen pass, I usually end up frustrated with all the bozos behaving badly on the outside. Even in the PL Forum.
Amazing the idiots that post in there from time to time.
I have competed in exactly one meet and sometimes I read those posts and wonder how they can not get it so badly.

This is how I ended up with a coach. I used to sit on the floor behind the head judge and ask questions at meets. I guess I was more endearing than annoying.
