Keep the damn kids off the lawn

Used the ER a few times, not bad. Last weekend I was on a Titan bench. Most god awful supposed competition bench ever. Slick pad, and only way to hand off was to have one foot of the lift-off platform so you were basically tea bagging the bencher.

Hope your knee is okay. That sucks. Especially when you can’t figure out what the deal is.

Yesterday laid around a lot, back tight, forearms shot, and started to notice I at least strained my pecs when missing my 2nd and third benches.

I did go out and go grocery shopping. Cried a little when my cart was loaded with brown rice, oatmeal, boneless skinless chicken breasts, ground turkey, veggies, and not much else…

This a.m. got up at 5. Found some old and dusty fat burners, popped them, then did 30 minutes elliptical.

P.M. Prowler, 90lb x 40 yards x 10. It was raining out, this sucked. Afterwards did ab wheel, 3 x 10. This sucked too. Actually it all sucked. But needs to be done.

Don’t have any meet on the horizon, but would like something maybe in March or April, so have my eyes peeled.

ummm, not to be a dick, but the title to your thread has nothing to do with your post.[/quote]

So maybe I should be informative here.

How to keep the kids off the lawn:

Step one: build an electric fence around your lawn.

Step two: place a bouncy house on lawn.

Step three: watch as kids try to get over electric fence to get into bouncy house from your deck, drink with umbrella in it firmly in your grip.

Any other suggestions?

no lat engagement, and was not in my normal bar path

I’m gonna save this one for future use. Thanks.

After a nap today tried to stand up and had a fuck ton of pain going on. Right then wife came home from yoga, shopping, etc, and sent me off to ortho walk in. Xrays show nothing, doctor surmises (as do I) severe strain to calve muscle causing sympathetic swelling in knee. He wants MRI. Of course. Do they get a commission on this? Gonna keep elevated, ice, go see mom tomorrow but nothing else, and decide on MRI on Monday. Of course the Vicodin and Beam combo makes me feel like a champ for now…

Ugh. I sure hope that nothing’s seriously wrong.

x2

I know a good doctor in lr, though he may recommend you spend some time in a living coffin.

Lot’s of ice, elevation, and eating whatever the hell I want today. Gonna schedule the MRI, but for later in the week, see if I can get rid of the issue on my own first.

Well, crap. We can’t have you injured, Pete.

And I tend to agree about doctors and MRIs. I think whenever someone gets an MRI, every MD in the area has a collective orgasm.

MRI scheduled for end of week, if I see progress between now and then it is cancelled. High deductible insurance sucks.

Gonna do a ‘deload’ lower tonight. See how things go.

I really am not patient with this shit.

Sorry about the leg. Hope it resolves itself on its own. I haven’t seen ‘fubar’ used in a long time. Good adjective. We use to use it to describe someone who has had way to many drinks or drugs.

Steve, Saturday by the time I was done with the vikes and the Beam I was definitely fubar’d.

By end of work day leg was markedly better. Was able to elevate and ice through two one hour long conference calls.

Went and had the following deadlift day, I’ll call it a deload, or testing the waters, or whatever.

RDLs, sans belt 135 x 10, 225 x 5, 315 x 5, 405 x 5 for two sets. did these slow, at ‘bodybuilder’ pace

wide grip pulldowns 6 x 10

seated hammer strength shrugs 5 x 15

reverse hyper 5 x 10

4 way neck 2 x 20

pull throughs 4 x 15

cable abs 6 x 10-15

calve raise (really light) 3 x 20

some swelling afterwards, ice, elevate, blah blah blah. pain in hamstring and calve greatly diminished, still some pain in knee. keep an eye on it til Friday, would rather rehab then spend a couple grand on an MRI and more on a surgery, if I can put it off for now.

so one of my training partners, who is an engineer, was on a conference call the other day, and meant to announce that he had figured out how to hone two bores at the same time. that is not what came out of his mouth

Glad the leg is clearing up.

weird shit - I swear MRI and DR’s are like dentists and xrays.

I have a cap in the front - lil baseball situation
every time I do to the dentist they want to do like 600 xrays.

Germanone is right- pain usually manifests someplace other then whats broken.

Thats some fine RDL’s on a bum knee.

Hope the knee continues to improve.

My wife believes that, because I am such a cheap bastard, as soon as I heard the quote for the MRI my cheapness over road my injury.

ROM much better today, swelling continues to go down, pain diminishing.

my rest time was very minimal:) leg is improving, rom is coming back today, still soreness in knee and in calve/tendon. ice and elevate tonight. one day at a time. I just happened to order a pair of knee sleeves a couple of weeks back, very timely. I think a lot of it is just overuse, need to pamper the joints a little.
