Meh, probably. Pulling today.
30 min elliptical

right knee/calve/hamstring very achey, getting out of chairs and walking not as easy it should be, especially after sitting for awhile
still proceeded with squat night
DE style
stretching, foam roll, warm ups x 1000 (seriously, think I did 45-50 minutes of warm ups)
box squats, super loose Metal Pro granny panties, new knee sleeves
325 plus green bands 2 x 2
375 plus green bands 2 x 2
415 plus green bands 2 x 2
465 plus green bands 2 x 2
leg raise 4 x 15
rev hyper 4 x 10
home now, leg is swollen from knee through calve. wtf?

Damn Pete…
Sorry about this.
I have old knee injury. First surgery didn’t go well, second was clean up from first. I find if hams or quads get too tight or strength imbalance sublux’ing it is easy and painful.
Have you seen an ortho?
went into ortho last Saturday, but he wants to do the whole MRI/PT/Plan a surgery. I am not that patient at this point. Right now ROM is coming back, pain is subsiding, etc. I will continue to train and rehab/prehab, and see where it goes. I have had way worse knee injuries, have had a botched surgery on my other knee, pretty confident I can work through this.
Glad to hear progress on both ROM and comfort!
Did he give an idea about what he would expect the imagining would show?

Probably scarring/cartilage damage.
In hindsight I should have turned down the volume of cardio a while ago. Was feeling over use aches and pains coming on, but in typical PeteS fashion I forged ahead.
Have had similar knee issues before, smartening up on wear and tear and working on stability etc. corrects things. Of course I know I have knee surgeries in my future, just not now.
Gonna squat tonight.
good luck.
hope it is comfortable and moving reduces inflammation.
skwattin…
still pain in leg, mostly settled in knee. However, I have had way worse in knee injuries, and rehabbed/trained them back w/o surgery. In fact, it is almost a way of life for me.
Of course I turn 40 this year, but right now I refuse to take that into too much consideration.
foam roll, stretch
warm ups x 2000
DE box squat 375 + green bands 8 x 2
used the green jump stretch bands instead of the ‘green’ woody bands I have been using. felt like a significant amount more band tension. however, a) I am injured and b) I noticed I hand my hands closer to the collars, which historically makes my squat less stable. So not a real scientific observation.
band leg curls (purple band) 4 x 25
leg raise 4 x 15
ghr 4 x 10
ab wheel 4 x 12
already had swelling just from sitting in a chair all day, little more after lifting. elevate, ice, etc.
Like has been said many times, living with pain and injury is just part of the fun of life.
Or maybe I am just a sadist.
Or I dont realize what is pain, and what is an actual injury waiting to happen.
Either way.
Glad to hear that its looking like youre going to be able to avoid surgery with the knee.
Thanks DF. things actually feeling pretty good today. Gonna try some sort of cardio over lunch.
30 minutes stepper
calves 4 x 20
foam roll, stretch
improvement
Good to read your leg is getting better. I’ve been nursing an aching left knee. Joints just suck.
Pete hope you try to rehab it yourself, and if you do go into full tilt rehab mode intent on fixin the problems. I know your no stranger to this but I would feel bad if I didn’t give some advise, three times a day hot 20 min’s then cold for 20 with it elevated, if you have one of those days when the swelling is markedly worse and won’t go down you may have to elevate and ice repeatedly with high fluid intake, ruined my lymphatic circulation in my left leg for life because I didn’t agreesively treat the swelling in time( by the way the whole time was under a doctors care and they where clueless as to what was happening and prescribed diuretics that where pretty much useless. Sorry couldn’t help myself, good luck bro you will overcome this.
