Thanks George and Jack. Have also another opportunity I should know more about tomorrow. To be honest, didn’t really like the last gig, so I wasn’t heart broken about the contract’s end. It was with a great company (Jack, you use their products often, I am guessing) but the group inside I was with had issues. And it was a hefty commute. Market is really good for telecom right now, and I have myself leveraged, for the moment. Learning more about being a hired gun day by day, after ten years of ‘steady’ work with the same company… [/quote]
Pete, I have a pretty good idea who you are talking about.
I think being a hired gun ain’t all that bad if you can find somewhat steady work. I’m still getting used to it, but I think I would have a hard time going back to a regular job. What ever you do, I hope you find something that both pays the bills and is enjoyable at the same time.
This a.m. I got up early and drove through a snow storm to bench. RAWWW bench.
Bench, ring finger on ring. 140 x 10, 230 x 5, 320 x 3, 370 x 3, 410 x 3, 430 x 3, 320 x 15
Then I noticed my wife had texted me that the power was out, please come home now. Drove home, and she said she wanted to go to the commercial gym. Well, I guess I could do my assistance stuff after all.
Bent row 135 x 10, 225 x 10, 275 x 10, 315 x 8, x 8, 225 x 18
dumbell shrugs 2 x 15
ez curls 4 x 6-12
hammer curls 70s x 10, 90s x 8
pressdowns 5 x 12-20
cable curls 3 x 15
cable tricep stuff some x a bunch
face pulls 5 x 15
cable laterals 3 x 15
machine overhead 3 x 15
then went home and for conditioning shoveled snow for 2 hours.
On the way to they gym (45 minute drive tonight) I realized I felt beat to shit form head to toe. Oh well.
Squat, raw warm ups 145 x 5, 235 x 3, 325 x 3, Briefs on 415 x 2, 505 x 2, 595 x 2, 625 x 2. Had a hell of a time feeling stable tonight. But that will improve.
Raw low box, wide stance 325 x 8, 415 x 8. Gonna use these as accessory for a few weeks. Work up to some nasty reps. This mimics my geared stance, so should perhaps take care of some of the stability issues.
leg raise, toes to eye level 4 x 10
ghr 4 x 10
Prowler 90lb x 40yrds x 8 trips.
Tonight is kinda like my Saturday night. Start new job Wednesday

On a related note, as a fellow IT consultant, I find that the challenges I face daily between the technology, the customers, and dealing with colleagues remotely makes for a great generator of the type of energy which can only be expelled through aggression under heavy weights…
Steely, I think you are on to something there. BTW you are looking hyuge these days.
This a.m. 25 minutes elliptical
