Keep the damn kids off the lawn

Thanks George and Jack. Have also another opportunity I should know more about tomorrow. To be honest, didn’t really like the last gig, so I wasn’t heart broken about the contract’s end. It was with a great company (Jack, you use their products often, I am guessing) but the group inside I was with had issues. And it was a hefty commute. Market is really good for telecom right now, and I have myself leveraged, for the moment. Learning more about being a hired gun day by day, after ten years of ‘steady’ work with the same company… [/quote]

Pete, I have a pretty good idea who you are talking about.

I think being a hired gun ain’t all that bad if you can find somewhat steady work. I’m still getting used to it, but I think I would have a hard time going back to a regular job. What ever you do, I hope you find something that both pays the bills and is enjoyable at the same time.

40 minutes elliptical, recent PR:)

This a.m. I got up early and drove through a snow storm to bench. RAWWW bench.

Bench, ring finger on ring. 140 x 10, 230 x 5, 320 x 3, 370 x 3, 410 x 3, 430 x 3, 320 x 15

Then I noticed my wife had texted me that the power was out, please come home now. Drove home, and she said she wanted to go to the commercial gym. Well, I guess I could do my assistance stuff after all.

Bent row 135 x 10, 225 x 10, 275 x 10, 315 x 8, x 8, 225 x 18

dumbell shrugs 2 x 15
ez curls 4 x 6-12
hammer curls 70s x 10, 90s x 8
pressdowns 5 x 12-20
cable curls 3 x 15
cable tricep stuff some x a bunch
face pulls 5 x 15
cable laterals 3 x 15
machine overhead 3 x 15

then went home and for conditioning shoveled snow for 2 hours.

25 minutes elliptical
20 minutes bike
vikings suck x 100

Try every decade. I’m a lifelong Lions fan.

Nice training Pete… that d/l was damn fast brother, I agree with mid 700 range.

I feel your pain with the Vikings… I was a Leaf (Toronto) fan for 43 %^$#! years… WAS… being the operative word.

Howdy Bunny, Ruglayer.

Skwaatttt night.

On the way to they gym (45 minute drive tonight) I realized I felt beat to shit form head to toe. Oh well.

Squat, raw warm ups 145 x 5, 235 x 3, 325 x 3, Briefs on 415 x 2, 505 x 2, 595 x 2, 625 x 2. Had a hell of a time feeling stable tonight. But that will improve.

Raw low box, wide stance 325 x 8, 415 x 8. Gonna use these as accessory for a few weeks. Work up to some nasty reps. This mimics my geared stance, so should perhaps take care of some of the stability issues.

leg raise, toes to eye level 4 x 10

ghr 4 x 10

Prowler 90lb x 40yrds x 8 trips.

Tonight is kinda like my Saturday night. Start new job Wednesday

Could be worse. Youre not a RedSkins fan are you?

a.m. 30 elliptical

then went to new job, information overload, but good place

then to commercial gym, upper assistance

bench 135 x 10, 225 x 10, 5 x 10 @ 275

standing military 135 x 5, 185 x 5, 205 x 5 weight not hard, but I need to relearn to do these

dips 5 x 20 not bad for a fatty

rolling tris 5 x 10 w/100s

laterals 5 x 10 w/45s

seated dbell curls 3 x 10 w/60s

rope hammer curls 3 x 15

whole lotta blood flowing

Most impressive lifting here Pete.

On a related note, as a fellow IT consultant, I find that the challenges I face daily between the technology, the customers, and dealing with colleagues remotely makes for a great generator of the type of energy which can only be expelled through aggression under heavy weights…

Steely, I think you are on to something there. BTW you are looking hyuge these days.

This a.m. 25 minutes elliptical

P.M. Commercial gym pulling. pulled with a dude I have become friends with, he’s competed at the same meets as me. Strong RAWWWW dude.

Rack pulls 2 pin: 135 x 5, 225 x 5, 315 x 3, 405 x 3, 495 x 3, 585 x 1, 655 x 1, 725 x 1, 765 x 0. Got right to the top of knees but lost it. should have gone for 745 or so for a PR.

GMs 3 x 10 w/315

leg press 6 x 10, last 2 sets at 990 plus 170lb machine. about 60 seconds rest between each set

Vgrip pulldowns 4 x 10

wide grip pulldowns 3 x 10

shrugs 4 x 20 w/405

decline abs bwt x 20, 25 (plate on forehead) x 12, 45plate on forehead x 8, bwt x 20

took way too long tonight, was going to get more volume work and some conditioning in but didn’t happen.

I, too, have a hard time with stability when I’m squatting doubles at 625. So you’re not alone there.

Had to laugh at the elliptical PR. What have we come to?

Man, I’m really sassy tonight.
