Keep the damn kids off the lawn

snapper, are you ever not sassy? MJ, thanks. Bunny, you always snicker.

today’s cardio shame included 20 minutes elliptical. followed by 20 minutes treadmill, at an incline.

Bench day

Warm ups and then Raw 2board, worked up to 460 x 3

close grip 3 board 410 x 10

CSR 6 x 10

bent lateral 5 x 10

ez curls 5 x 10-15

band pressdowns 5 x 12-20

prowler 90 x 40yrd x 10

460…

Man, so.far.away…

Great lifting.

20 minutes treadmill, 20 elliptical.

in the name of having an opportunity to work some more billable hours didn’t make the weekly pilgrimage to the PL Club to skwat. Instead went to commercial gym and did my semi-annual raw, walked out squats.

Squatting: bar x 10, 135 x 5, 225 x 5, 315 x 3, 405 x 1, 475 x 1, 545 x 1, 545 x 3, 455 x 6

hyper extension 3 x 15

cable abs 3 x 15

have a feeling this is going to make me very sore tomorrow.

What’s with the cardio stuff? Are you trying to slim down? Make weight? Something like that?

What part is going to make you sore tomorrow, the cable abs? I find the oddest things make me sore. Right now it’s yesterday’s tricep extensions.

O, yeah, trying to get leaner. And long term health. But mostly just sexier. My wife is looking amazing, with her 40th coming near, and post pregnancy. Gotta keep up. I am not joking that she is my inspiration. Plus last meet I weighed in as a full 308, and while there are many reasons, not all bad, for the weight gain, it is just too much to carry around. At least now. I have many friends encouraging me to be that full 308. But I need to scale it back for now. I am now down around 280, give or take 5 due to fluctuations, and can see my top two abs, veins in my biceps, and can tie my shoes fully bent over if need be.

Tomorrow I will be sore from squatting in a way that I have not since June. Raw, walked out, no box, just straight up an down weight. I was just going to do singles but the 545 felt easy enough I had to go back for a triple. Kinda makes me want to do a raw meet.

30 minutes elliptical this a.m.

Good stuff Pete!

happy thanksgiving all.

Thanks for the support I have received from this whole forum this last year. The last year was probably one of the scariest I have faced in my life. But I learned, and gained, more from this year, than probably any of the 39 before it. It was about 12 months ago I was laid off, from a company, that, in different names, I had worked for for ten years. With a horse-shit economy, a then 3 year old, a 20 year old, and a pregnant wife, this was downright scary. I had a few months severance pay that was taxed to hell, but this initiated a very quick change in lifestyle. The most major point was becoming a stay at home dad.

At first the stay at home dad thing was a little nerve rattling. But I honestly have to say it will go down forever as one of the best experiences of my life. Me and the kid became symbiotic, we have a connection I will fight to make sure we never, ever lose.

And then his baby brother was born, and the money stress got higher. But we had this new blessing, and my wife on maternity leave. Thank god at this point the job offers finally started coming in. At this point I made some hard decisions too, and decided to pull my dick out of my vagina, and start naming my price. The price I wanted was modest, but enough to allow my wife to, for now, stay at home with the kids, support our lifestyle, etc. And for now this has worked out. And finally at this point things are looking up.

I could ramble a lot more, but that is enough for now…

Pete - it has been a pleasure to share this past year of trials and tribulations with you! Thanks for being part of this community because I, too, have benefited from the support of this forum over the last year and more.
