Seriously though… nice lifting. When you do your rack pulls… you use straps? I am starting to, finding my grip giving out and tearing my hands up. Do you lift sumo or conventional… I know you have stated in one of your logs, I’m just to lazy… and the site is to slow for me to go back and look.

Regarding rack pulls, it depends. At the BB club, I only use straps if it is really top end work, right beneath the knee cap. At the commercial gym, almost always. There is one good DL bar there, but the rest are smooth chrome POS bars, and those are the ones I use for rack pulls. Can’t get a grip on them.
Made it to squat night tonight. Was feeling still exhausted from the weekend, so had low expectations. Actually intended on doing an old school DE night with the SSB, but didn’t have the attention span for band set up. So did SSB with straight weight (between raw benching, OPs, and then sleeping on my side because my four year old hogged the air mattress I was sleeping on the other night, my shoulder is feeling fubar’d).

Bunny, noticed I didn’t answer, I pull conventional. Earlier in this thread there is a video of me doing the 655 opener at my last meet. conventional, raw. think I am going to buying a suit finally in the next couple of weeks though.
Cool. Thanks brother. Ever deadlifted in a suit before? I’ve heard pros and cons… most of the positive stuff I have heard is from people that utilise the briefs for the deadlift.
As usual, I have little idea what this all really means, but it looks like a lot of good work anyway. I have done RDLs, so at least that part is not so mysterious.

I have had some god awful attempts at pulling in a suit geared. Turned purple and felt all twisted just getting 505 to move. After talking to a few top lifters who are about my size, with about my leverages, I have determined that I can gear whore my dl. Anthony Carlquist, who has hit around a 2500 total as a light 275 gave me some good pointers as to what he does at the last meet I did. Same day he did a beastly 1003, low 700s bench, mid 700s pull.
Carl, it’s all good. I just recently learned that a snatch is a lift. All this time my mind has been in the gutter…

And as always, I got more questions for you. If you go to my log on the latest update you can see my latest shirt work. The hardest part of the shirted bench for me is the very last couple inches…I either get it perfect (like on the 455) or I almost free fall that last bit (like today). Am I not coming low enough? Do I need to tuck more? Or what? I know that without bein in person you cant offer too much help, but any help at all I greatly appreciate. I dont personally know anyone around here who can help learn how best to used the shirt.

DF, to me it sounds like a) more lock out work and b) you are either falling out of the groove of the shirt and/or not flaring at the right time.
