Keep the damn kids off the lawn

also, DF, are you benching in a ‘J’? think of practicing your superman’s when walking around (arms starting at chest, then pretend you are starting to fly like superman, arms extended, hands ending above your face).

A snatch is a lift?

Yeah, pigtails FTW. They definitely help me lift more.

Snapper, you rock.

Story behind my ‘snatch’ comment. Recently ordered a new foam roller for the house from Elite, the crappy one both my wife and I had been using had turned into a pillow. Ordered it during their free mystery Tshirt promo. The T shirt I got has the phrase ‘the perfect snatch’ on the front of the shirt with a silhouette of someone performing said lift. Perhaps there is a generational gap in the slang, but the under thirty crowd at the bb club just pointed out the fact that I don’t have the shoulder mobility to, um, do, the, uh, snatch…

Thanks for the advice, I will do my best to incorporate it.

x2, RIP Hussey

DF, if that is not clear let me know. RE the superman thing, this is something I got first hand from ‘Priest’. Guessing you are smart enough to know who that is.

45 minutes elliptical, while watching Twilight Zone marathon

happy new years friends. as most know this was a weird year for me. Unemployed for the first time in my life. Full time dad. Then reemployed twice. New baby. Learning this multi-ply stuff. Etc. Got a lot of support from this forum. Consider many of you real friends. Not just internet folk. Glad to have all of you. Right now I am going to have one last 2010 adult beverage and go to sleep so I can to some hungover, or semi-hungover, benching in the a.m.

Incredible, and with a hangover to boot

thanks DF. the 680 moved as fast as any of the others, my bench just keeps seeming to improve. the DL too. now time to grow a dick and get the squat a going that way, in gear.

yeah, realized while I like raw training, I have no intention of competing that way anytime soon…

WTG on the PR. 680. Jeez.

I’m looking forward to getting back in gear. Haven’t been in it since last March. I get a huge boost for squat. Well, “huge” means something different to me than it does to you!

wife wanted to go to the gym today, so I go in some extra work

face pulls 5 x 12-15

hammer strength yates row 3 x 12

hammer strength high row 4 x 12

two arms dumbell rows 3 x 10

reverse curls 3 x 12

wrist curls 4 x 15

bike 20 min
elliptical 20 min

Did reverse band bench today after Military Press to (hopefully) work lockout…yeah, lockout is definitely becoming a problem. Granted, it was with some soreness and slight pain, but 405 should have come up easier (did two singles, filmed the second one). Other than 3 board (which I need another spotter to do, which I dont always have), what would you recommend for lockout?

Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

Pete how many gym memberships do you have? Really impressed with your consistency both in lifting and cardio, especially with a baby in the mix.

DF the list is nearly endless. My favorite is rolling tris with a mini band around my traps for extra tension at lock out. Also close grips, reverse grips, 2-4 boards, JM presses, any thing that is ‘heavy’ for the tris will build it up. I will try to take a gander at your video later, but I usually prefer to look at nonlifting videos when I am on the internet:)

Scott, my BB club membership is no charge. I then have a membership to a large chain that has locations all through out the area. Through mergers of different chains each one of these is very different. The one by my house has a DL jack, some quality bars, some big jacked dudes that compete in bb, strongman, PL. The one by work has nothing like this, except I do have access to a sled and a set of chains there. I also have a punch card membership to a slightly more public powerlifting gym. Haven’t used that for nearly a year though.

Yeah, I am stubbornly consistent. If I am going to so something, well, I stay pretty damn committed. And not just with training. Has been my downfall sometimes, in some areas of life.

nice to see you busy…

what is with that the programming to do well in something-

even when its bad for you

I don’t drink anymore do the math

20 minutes elliptical this a.m. really had to drag my ass out of bed today. off to work, squat tonight
